'Now it's time to explain things to them,' Liu Feng thought to himself as the trio sat down forming a circle.
"Alright, let's talk about the items we obtained from that old maniac, but first, let me clarify a couple of things"
"Zhang Yan, are you comfortable sharing your story with her? If you don't want to, I won't force you. It's entirely up to you," Liu Feng asked Zhang Yan, considering his feelings about the matter.
"It's alright, I trust sister Mei. You can share it with her," Zhang Yan replied with a reassuring smile.
Liu Feng felt that it seemed the duo had gotten closer while he was not paying attention.
"Very well then, but I think it would be better if you share it yourself," Liu Feng suggested.
"But Mei Lin, let me remind you that if what you're about to hear becomes difficult for you, you are free to leave. Of course, I'll still teach you how to cultivate as I promised, so you don't have to worry about that," Liu Feng was not fully sure if it was the right thing to do but he thought he should not force her or anyone in this matter.
"It's okay, I want to hear it," Mei Lin responded, displaying her curiosity regarding the mystery behind Zhang Yan.
With that, Zhang Yan began to narrate his entire backstory. He explained how he was from the fallen Zhang Family and how they were framed by the Chen Family. Zhang Yan talked about his sister, who had been kidnapped by the Chen Family, and their sinister plan to attack Gale City residents during the festival.
As Zhang Yan shared his tragic past, Mei Lin took some time to process the information. Her expression revealed shock and disbelief, but she composed herself and assured Zhang Yan that she would help them.
Liu Feng sensed Mei Lin's anger toward the Chen Family, even though she didn't explicitly mention the reason. He felt that the Chen Family's actions to ruined the festival caused her to be angry with them.
It looked like Mei Lin was somewhat looking forward to enjoying the festival.
With everything cleared up, Liu Feng proceeded to explain the significance of the items they had received in the morning.
"Let's start with you, Mei Lin. The dried lotus you received is extremely beneficial for cultivating a poison-type cultivation technique, which is what I am about to teach you."
"You should know that you possess a rare and unique constitution which is rare even in…."
"Anyways just keep in mind that item will help you cultivate faster. I'll teach you how to use it later"
'Phew! That was close. I was about to say, even in novels, but thank goodness I handled the situation!'
With a warm smile, Liu Feng handed her the dried lotus. Although Mei Lin noticed the missing portion of the flower, she didn't think too much of it.
"Now, Zhang Yan, let's talk about your stone. Promise me that the next time you see that guy, you'll give him a good smack on his head from behind," Liu Feng said with a hint of irritation in his voice.
He continued in a serious tone, "The stone contained a remnant soul of an evil cultivator, and it tried to possess my body when I was inspecting it. It was a dangerous item, and from next time be cautious of the items you receive from strangers."
"So, I decided to destroy the stone along with the remanent soul inside of it", Liu Feng appeared wise and displayed a confident look.
Zhang Yan felt shocked, but soon Liu Feng's comforting words lifted his spirits.
"But don't worry, I've found a suitable body cultivation technique for you. It took some time for me to determine the best technique that suits you, but now you will be able to cultivate it as well."
"I've already asked Li He to buy some medicinal herbs for us. Once we have them, I'll teach you how to cultivate your body,"
"Boss, what about the item you received?" Zhang Yan asked.
"Oh, that! It's very mysterious. Even with my knowledge, I'm having difficulties determining its origin," Liu Feng replied with a mysterious tone.
"Alright, so that's about it. Now I'll teach you how to cultivate," Liu Feng said, turning his focus to Mei Lin.
"Zhang Yan, please go and take some rest, and keep an eye out for us. I don't want to be disturbed while teaching Mei Lin how to cultivate."
"I'll call for you when we're done. If they bring the herbs, receive them for me," Liu Feng instructed Zhang Yan.
"Sure thing, Boss!" he nodded and left the room, leaving only Mei Lin and Liu Feng behind.
The silence in the room became heavy, as both of them were usually people of few words, which made the situation awkward.
Liu Feng eventually lost the battle of patience and decided to break the silence. "So, Mei Lin, are you ready?"
Mei Lin replied, "yes...I am ready."
"Before we begin, I have two requirements. First, don't teach this technique to others, and second, never use your power to harm the innocent. If you can guarantee that, I can teach you now," Liu Feng asked her seriously.
"I promise," Mei Lin affirmed, understanding the gravity of his words.
"The technique I'm about to teach you is called the [Eight Trigram Poison Scripture]. So listen closely,"
Liu Feng began, casually renaming his original [Eight Trigram Dao Convergence Scripture] to [Eight Trigram Poison Scripture] for Mei Lin.
He changed the name of his technique to emphasize the modification done by the addition of poison element dao fragments into the original, making it different.
Liu Feng also considered the possibility of creating [Eight Trigram Flame Scripture] or [Eight Trigram Lightning Scripture] in the future, each incorporating different dao fragments.
'I guess I should also establish some sect later, otherwise, so many techniques will just go to waste. Sigh ~'
'I guess I'll see when the time comes.'
First, Liu Feng decided to explain his insights into the cultivation technique to Mei Lin, making sure that she had a good understanding of the technique.
He carefully shared his knowledge, describing the steps and process involved in it.
Then Liu Feng moved on to demonstrate the cultivation technique. Although there was not any change in the actual cultivation process, he did focus his qi onto his palms and manifested a greenish aura from it.
Next, he took a more direct approach. Placing both of his palms on her back, he instructed, "Ahem... close your eyes, Mei Lin."
He continued, "Now, focus on your breathing and feel the flow of my qi within you."
Guiding her through the process, Liu Feng asked Mei Lin to sense the movements of his qi within her body.
He explained that the dantian, the core of their cultivation, should be just below her navel area, and the qi should circulate smoothly throughout her body, gathering at this point.
It took some time, but not more than half an hour, for Mei Lin to start sensing the presence of Qi on her own. At first, her circulation was not entirely smooth, but with Liu Feng's help, she quickly got the hang of it.

After nearly two hours, Liu Feng finally left his room, feeling tired from the extreme concentration. Inside his room, Mei Lin was diligently cultivating, having quickly adapted to the cultivation technique he had taught her.
'Sigh~, she really is talented', he thought to himself.
As Liu Feng stepped out, he encountered Zhang Yan, who was eagerly waiting for him, and informed him that the butler had already arranged the medicinal herbs. Curious, they went to examine the herbs and met up with Li He, who showed them with the freshly brought collection.
There were 115 stalks of Bloodvine Grass, 110 stalks of Serpent Fern, 80 stalks of Scarlet Orchid, 50 Blood Ginsengs, and 70 stalks of Vermilion Grass.
Liu Feng went along with Li He as he introduced the herbs. Apparently, these were valuable herbs for Blood Refinement.
Li He asked, "Should I ask the servants to prepare a bath for you?"
Liu Feng nodded, "Yes, please have them use half of the herbs to prepare a medicinal bath for me. Keep the other half for tomorrow. Once again, thank you, Li He."
Turning to Zhang Yan, Liu Feng informed him, "I'll teach you the body cultivation method tomorrow morning. Be ready for it."
Zhang Yan replied with a hint of disappointment in his voice, "Sure, Boss. I'll be ready."
Mei Lin also emerged from Liu Feng's room. She thanked him before heading to her room.
