Perturbed

The company bus arrived at the Cherokee Zone after about two and a half hours. As this was not the longest journey she had made since entering the city of Kansas, Elma took the trip in good spirits. After all, she had every reason to be grateful. Ishaq had helped her complete her task before she left the office. Although she wanted to take the time to thank him properly for his immediate help, he had disappeared shortly afterwards.

She looked out the window as the summer heat beat against her pale skin. She had always been so curious to visit the Cherokee in North Carolina. She had learned from her findings that the air on that side could be extremely warm and humid. So far she could see that was true. The air was hot, but there was also a hint of chill in it. And Elma found it enchanting.
