Chapter 16: He's Not My Dad

"It's old news from ages ago. What kind of computer do you want to buy? Let's go get one now." Michael Knight smiled gently, looking at Polly Song to let her make the decision.

"Can you go to the mall?"

Michael Knight laughed again, "Do you have some misunderstanding about celebrities? Airport pickups are both a fan service and part of a star's job. Otherwise, how do you think people know a star's flight details? With so many people nationwide, how many are truly chasing stars? If you walk down the street and don't say you're a celebrity, who would know?"

Polly Song felt that although she didn't understand, it all made so much sense.

Meanwhile, at the birthday party, Mrs. Parker could only grit her teeth and admit that Victoria Parker had been married for a while, and they were just play-fighting as a couple earlier.

The other society ladies looked at Mrs. Parker differently; after all, she had been trying to set up her son for matchmaking.

The two kids quietly sneaked in and happened to overhear this part. Daisy was focused solely on the food, while Charlotte Cook furrowed his little brows, realizing they weren't just dating, but actually married!

Although this meant he and his brother were legally recognized, divorcing seems more troublesome than a breakup.

"Charlotte Cook, it's that handsome uncle," Daisy whispered to remind his brother.

Charlotte Cook furrowed his brows and held his brother's hand, "Let's go back to school, or mommy will find out."

"Huh?" Daisy was baffled; wasn't it his brother who brought him here?

"But I want..." Daisy turned back three times every step looking inside, but let his brother lead him away.

"I'll buy you something tasty when we leave. Didn't mommy say good-looking people are all liars?"

Daisy tilted his little head and thought about it; maybe she did say that.

But wasn't it his brother who brought him here?

These adults and kids are all so weird.

At the party, Andrew Lindsey manoeuvred through the drinking crowd, approached Victoria quietly and whispered near her ear, "I think I just saw Daisy, he seemed to bring a classmate, but then they left."

"Where?" Victoria said and then left with Andrew. All they saw was the taxi driving away in the distance, and Victoria frowned slightly, "Note down the license plate and let's drive."

Really, do brainless people have a lot of courage? He even dared to take a taxi alone and come over?

Michael Knight felt he wasn't that famous nationwide, and during the computer purchase, other than a few curious glances, there really weren't any blockades or crowds.

Polly Song bought her computer and nothing went wrong.

"See, like I said," Michael Knight said, feeling slightly smug.

"Are you not that famous then, were you lying to me?" Polly Song recalled that the celebrities she saw on TV were always surrounded by crowds of fans, so why were there none now?

Michael Knight leaned against the steering wheel, laughing loudly. He didn't know why, but Polly Song's naïve look seemed so adorable.

But as he laughed, he abruptly stopped, "Am I paying debts back too quickly? How will I find you in the future?"

Polly Song was puzzled, "Just find me if you want, why do you need a reason?"

Polly Song spoke casually, and Michael Knight's expression changed slightly, then he reined in his emotions, returning to gentleness, "Okay, well, that's what you said."

Polly Song was fiddling with the new computer, feeling extremely pleased, "Of course, I said it."

"Aren't you afraid of Victoria being mad?"

"Why would I be afraid of her anger?" Polly Song looked at Michael Knight with confusion, "She's not my dad. Do I have to tell her when I make friends?"

Polly Song spoke naturally, and Michael Knight couldn't help lighting a candle in his heart for his friend. The girl truly didn't have him in her heart.

Does it mean he might have a chance?

Maybe people didn't recognize Michael Knight, but his fans could spot him even if he wore sunglasses and a mask, especially when he took off his glasses amid the situation.

A massive crowd of fans from University A instantly wailed dramatically, their male idol actually secretly dating behind their backs.

This crowd included Polly Song's senior, Emma Turner.

After Polly Song got off the car and bid farewell to Michael Knight, she received a message from Emma Turner filled with anger, including a video.

[Emma Turner: Michael Knight, that scumbag is actually dating? Did I spend money on his endorsements just to let him support other women?

Polly Song: [Small head, big doubt·jpg]

Polly Song: You actually chase stars?

Emma Turner: Is that the point? Otherwise, why do you think my salary vanished?

Polly Song: You even chase Michael Knight!!!]

Polly Song looked at Michael Knight's departing car, wondering whether she should call him to ask for a signature or something to soothe her senior's wounded heart.

Wait, dating?

Polly Song suddenly felt something was off and opened the video Emma Turner sent, instantly feeling a sense of confirmation.

The video only showed her back, not very clear, as the one filming was focused on Michael Knight, so Michael Knight was crystal clear, including moments where he took off his glasses as they discussed the computer, though she couldn't understand where this gentleness in the eyes was?

Polly Song exited the video and began typing.

[Emma Turner: If I find out who that woman is, I'll ruin her, give my money back!

Emma Turner: Besides, I always feel that back looks familiar.]

Polly Song instantly deleted the typed words, lowering her head to look at the gown she was wearing, thanking heavens that Emma Turner hadn't seen her in a gown.

Over at the school, Victoria also discovered the news that hadn't hit the hot search yet, shown to her by Andrew.

Victoria watched the "intimate" interaction in the video, face turning beyond what could be described simply as ugly.

The taxi ahead arrived at the school, and Victoria watched from afar as three children got off: two boys and one girl, presumably his classmates. Seeing them go inside, she felt relieved.

"Go to Polly Song's school."

Andrew turned the car ahead; everyone knew where University A was.

"Also, check if anyone unusual appeared around Daisy."

"Is the CEO concerned someone with ill intentions might exploit him?" After all, Daisy's actions were indeed strange.

But it seemed Miss Song was completely unaware, mainly because, Miss Song might genuinely not have the mind for this.

Polly Song returned home, changing clothes while waiting for her senior to angrily unfollow the fan pages, so utterly casual.

"Unfollow, unfollow, quickly unfollow," Polly Song said as the doorbell rang. Her gown was halfway taken off, high heels kicked to one side, "Hold on, it's probably Professor Hills looking for mom, I'll get the door."

Polly Song was juggling her cellphone, trying to undo the clasp of the other high heel with one hand, black gown's strap hanging halfway, hopping on one foot to open the door, "Professor Hills, my mom..."
