The Oak Tree

Aslan felt Rosie's body tremble in his embrace. He stopped looking at Lily to check what had happened to the princess. He was surprised to see Rosie's face was wet with tears.

"Roseanne?" called Aslan, who was confused as to why Rosie was crying.

Rosie turned and hugged Aslan tightly. "Aslan…. I'm sorry for making Lily's condition get worse. I haven't had time to apologize!!!" she whimpered in Aslan's arms.

Aslan patted Rosie on the back gently, trying to soothe the girl. He wasn't good at words to comfort someone, so he chose to stroke Rosie's back.

Aslan continued to let Rosie cry until she stopped. Rosie hadn't known Lily long. She also only rode Lily once to escape from the castle, but seeing Lily close its eyes for all eternity made Rosie very depressed. Besides, she hadn't apologized to the horse, Rosie also couldn't bear to see Lily leave Aslan alone.
