Perfect Morning Ruined

Perhaps because of Aslan's thin, small, and dull body, Duke Montgomery adopted him out of pity. Indeed, there was a trend of adopting children back then. Many noble families who had a lot of money would visit the orphanages to adopt one or two children at once to increase their social status before the citizens' eyes.

However, behind it, there were many bitter truths. Not all adopted children were lucky enough to find a new family that accepted them as they were.

Some of the adopted children served as servants, some were poisoned by their step siblings because of jealousy, some were expelled or returned to an orphanage if the child didn't meet their expectations.

Little Aslan tended to be quiet. Since he was a baby, he had been in an orphanage. He might be just the child of a village woman who accidentally became pregnant or got pregnant by the army. Maybe because his mother was unable to bear the burden, Aslan was left at the door of the orphanage.
