The Queen's First Anger

Rosie couldn't remember when the fruits were placed on her table. Maybe they were brought by her aunt when she was in pain earlier.

"You want to eat an apple? I will peel it off for you."

"No, thank you. My stomach still feels uncomfortable," Rosie said, turning down Howland's offer.

Howland was silent for a moment. His gentle smile faded for a second, then he forced the same smile again and kept peeling the apple for himself.

The tip of the knife looked so sharp that it made Howland think of many possible ways to use it. However, he quickly shook his head to erase his very crazy thoughts. He had goosebumps remembering what he just thought about earlier.

Howland bit into the last slice of the apple and put the sharp knife away.

"Is there anything you want to eat, Rosie?" Howland asked, sitting back down next to Rosie.
