The Dissapointment

Aslan walked out of the house first, and Rosie followed behind.

The two of them walked in silence. They passed through the bamboo forest which yesterday afternoon witnessed their fight. Aslan refrained himself from making his wife speak to him.

Rosie was surprised to see that the bridge full of weathered wood that she often used to go to the village had been dismantled and replaced with a sturdier wooden bridge. She looked at the river that was flowing slowly. The river was not very big. It was only three steps the width of a grown man, but with many weathered and potholes on the bridge, it looked very dangerous.

Fortunately, this bridge had now been replaced. Rosie wanted to thank her husband, but her voice caught in her throat again. Her pride still held her back from speaking.
