The Night Chat

Rosie climbed the stairs slowly. There was no room there. It was just an open space surrounded by small windows where a few eagles with their eyes closed were perched on them peacefully.

Rosie touched the cloth that she never took off her hands and then walked across the room to an open area with a bridge that ended nowhere.

She could see Aslan standing on the edge of the bridge while looking up at the dark night sky. Her feet stepped forward to get closer and stopped beside the man. Then, she rested her head on Aslan's shoulder and peered into the starless sky.

The moon in front of them looked very small. It was different when they were in Angaria. Westalis, one of the cities in Angaria, was the most beautiful place to see the moon, especially in the flower meadow where they buried Lily the horse. Even the moon on the Torao wasn't as clear as it was on Westalis.

Aslan Montgomerry, Duke of Westalis. How long had Rosie not heard those words?
