I had the weird sense that someone was outside watching us, but I couldn't see anyone, so I just decided to let go of whatever feeling I have, and shove it down.
With iced caramel coffee.
I almost moaned because it was so yummy.
Damion, Jai, Olivia, Olivia, Amber, all of the other people, and I all sat in my huge living room while I stood in the kitchen and made a batch of hot chocolate. After an entire pot was made, I filled up twenty three cups of it, put some whipped cream on top. And on top of that, caramel drizzle, butterscotch chips and dark chocolate shavings to sprinkle it with.
"Okay, pick out a cup. They all have the same amount in them. Oh, and I almost forgot, it just came off of the pot, so it is called hot chocolate for a reason", I said to everyone.
I came out of the open kitchen with a cup, my hands on the handle.
"Wow, how do make so many of them so fast?", a woman asked me.
I answered, "Well, you don't need magic to make hot chocolate on a stove."
Everyone opened their mouths as if to say, 'Oh. Okay, yeah, that makes sense. Dumb question.'
But it wasn't at all what I thought this day would be like.
I literally thought that it was either going to be a normal day doing yoga.Or being chased by an angry mob.
But I never thought that I would be having caramel, butterscotch, white and dark hot chocolate with the angry mob that turned on the flip of a dime, actually wanting to know more about the supernatural world. And even though they knew that they were not going to go there, or find out where it is, they still wanted to know more about me.
And the thing that surprised me the most was that they seemed to even like the fact that I was supernatural. And rocking the party.
Damion seemed like he was a little worried about me,but he went along with it anyway.
I knew that he was a bit uncomfortable with the whole situation, but I wasn't.
I went to school with humans, and yes, there were a few supernaturals that sneak in here and there, but they were mostly humans who didn't know that there were vampires, werewolves, witches, and others that they had to try and not make mad.
Because in our laws of nature, any supernatural who tries to harm a human will be harmed of killed as a punishment of justice and learning.
The bullies that were in schools, were most likely humans making fun of a person that could easily put a spell on them, suck their blood dry, take them down, or even worse.
They could be killed by some of the rebels that don't care about the laws of nature or think that they can get away with it.
Now in my case, I did what I had to do.
I did the right thing by not meaning to hurt them out of anger, but I am still waiting to be called into a supernatural court called, 'Life Hanging in the Balance.'
And I just hope that I don't get the unfair judge named, 'Judge Vincent.'
Because nobody likes that judge. Not even me.
As I explained all of this to the crowd, I paused for dramatic effect, and then said, "For all of the humans in here, you think Judge Judy is mean, you should meet bloodsucking judge, yes, he is a vampire, and the judge that I think that I am going to get, because, well, I don't want to jinx myself, but I think that I'm going to 'Prison of Prisms.' That is a supernatural prison with walls made of mirrors that not only reflect you, but your worst self."
A woman with natural red hair and lots of freckles asked me how I knew so much of that prison, and if I had ever been there.
I answered, "You know how you go on a field trip or a tour of a human jail, you know, just to know what it is like?"
They all nodded.
I continued, "Well it is kind of like that, only they let the inmates locked up because they are so dangerous. And the only reason that I know so much about it is because I wanted to, in my day, be a judge myself. But I would not make a very good one, because I am a firm believer in giving people and or supernaturals a second chance. But after that chance, if they do it again, then they will be locked up for the appropriate amount of time."
"And how do you know how much time to give them, if you don't mind me asking?", another woman asked.
"Well, that depends on how mortal or immortal they are. It also depends on the actual intent of the crime. And it also depends on their future intentions that will not change with the change of time. You see, in the supernatural community, we don't hurt or kill humans. Heck, we even try to save them every now and then without showing our true form of what we can do out into the public."
A man asked from the bright red velvet love seat in the corner, "So, before you became a hybrid, you were a witch, right? And then your witch powers were taken away by someone else. Who would do such a thing to you. You're awesome. And you know what, I don't care if whoever told us about you planning to take over this city. I don't buy it for a minute anymore. I needed to have the proof first. Oh, and by the way, I love this tiny couch. Is it velvet?"
I laughed and said, "Why yes it is. And I need to get rid of my old furniture anyway, because, well, I don't know if it could take another beating of flying fur."
I dipped my head and looked at Damion through my eyelashes and said, "So, honey, how about leather couches instead?"
The group in the living room barked out laughing and as I joined in too, I sensed and smelled the same guy from outside. I knew that he was out there watching me, or Damion, or the crowd that was supposed to get me, but instead were about to have a crashed party.
And I was right.
A rock was thrown into the window, making everyone scream, and I picked it up, reading the note that was tied around it with red string.
"Well, what does it say?", the red head woman asked.
As my blood ran cold, I read the note aloud, "Serenity, come alone."
And I knew what that meant.
"Okay, well, um, I don't know how to say this, but you all go on and don't worry about the mugs, I can always get more. Enjoy your hot cocoa and just to be safe, to keep all of you safe, you all should go out the side door."
"Why, are we in danger now?"
I nodded my head, "You will be in danger if I don't get you out of here safely. I will have my sister put an illusion spell on all the humans in the room so that you are not spotted until you are home, and then the spell will be worn off. But I need you all to tell me what your favorite animal is, because today, you will be seen as it until you walk in your front doors."
A man in the front just looked at me and asked if he could be a panda.
Another, a black lion, and so on and so forth, they were going to be seen as animals and not themselves.
"Rawr, I'm a T-Rex!"
"I don't know how to tell you this, but the spell will only work if you step outside. The man seemed embarrassed, but ran outside and everyone gasped to see a human sized T-Rex.
And that is when I had to hurry everyone out because I said that the intruder was in the house.
