Chapter Four

"Kiara, wait up" Carol (Meliora's best friend) called out to her as she entered the elevator.

Meliora A.K.A Kiara stopped and turned to Carol, "What?" she asked furiously

"Shhh girl, chillax, you've been moody ever since you walked through the door," Carol said and jerked her thumb towards the door.

"Well I woke up on the wrong side of my bed"

" Idont need someone to tell me" she sighed before handing her friend a cup of coffee.

Kiara took gentle sips and got out immediately after the doors opened.

"Hey wait up" Kiara called out as she pushed through the sea of bodies "Zack gave us an assignment, well me but I need your help," she said holding Kiara's hand and pouting her lips.

"Stop that, you look like a silly puffed gold fish"

"I think i look cute"

"Sure, go around and scare people"

Carol hit Kiara on her arm "Not funny"

"Never said it was" They reached Kiara's office door "So what's this new assignment of yours?" Kiara asked pushing the huge glass doors.

"Well it has to do with the witches and werewolves"

Kiara spat out her coffee "Witches?"

"Guess there are conspiracies" Carol said handing her a tissue "It isnt a new topic, those witches are always causing trouble, they make our job damn and we have to keep them in place"

"Not all witches are bad"

"Really, ever since the werewolves revolution last 300 years, the witches have been mean and violent"

"Maybe they have reasons for their actions"

"Reasons, how? I am proud a werewolf pledged to serve the vampires, you dont see me causing problems or havoc plus I am proud to have a power rank but those witches have no rank, the lowest of all creatures"

" Yeah, Lucky you," Kaira said sacarstically,-Sure aunt can be annoying but not all witches are bad-

"So will you help me?"

"Sure"

"Thanks" Carol turned to leave, "See you later in the afternoon to discuss our mission" and closed the door behind her.

Kiara sat down and jotted few things down, she has to join this investigation, and keep a watchful eye, she can't and won't loose her aunt.

*******

"Wendy, you have done a good job taking care of her but still she has no powers" Brenda, a fellow witch said and handed her a cup filled with brown liquid which Wendy gulped down.

"Thanks"

"Your welcome, so back to what i was saying, how can we be sure that she can be of use? I mean she doesn't have powers"

"I know Brenda, but I train her every day, it's just hope we need, maybe her powers will bloom one day"

"We don't have time for hope, she is our ticket to a better life and respect, something we witches will never have if she doesn't do something about her powers"

"Calm down, it will come"

"You have been saying that for over 484 years but still she has never ever transformed or cast a spell!"

"I know, I am also getting tired"

"Me too, witches don't live for long but because of her, you and i keep changing bodies whenever our host becomes weak and you know that this process weakens our spirits, we don't have much time left!" Brenda spat

"We don't have much time left but we can still make an effort with the remaining time we have left, please bare with me" Wendy pleaded and placed her hand on Brenda's.

Brenda looked at the lady in front of her, who looked nothing like Wendy at all. She closed her eyes and could still see Wendy's real face "You never had freckles but here you are, with freckles"

"It's not my real face, my spirit is living in someone else's body, so don't expect me to look like me."

"I know, just miss when we had less trouble on our necks" Brenda said and opend her eyes "Will everything be okay?"

Wendy looked at the body housing her friend's spirit and shrugged "I can't know."

Right now, Meliora destiny was calling out to her...
