Passion

Delia felt like cold water was poured over her when she heard Leo say the words she had been longing to hear. She felt her heart leap out of her chest and did a little dance, the butterflies in her stomach growing wild.

The way he said it, as though she meant the world to him. And she could see it in his eyes, he meant it, he loved her. She thought she knew how love felt with Mason, but now she could clearly see the difference.

As she thought of it, she realized that she had been so blinded by her feelings for him that that she would read deep meanings into every little thing he does for her. The signs were clear. He doted on her, but he was never there when she needed him. He wasn't a good listener. The signs were plenty, but she overlooked it.

She broke their kiss and stared down at him lovingly.
