Adeline’s grip on the pendant tightened as the message faded. Robert noticed her troubled expression. "What is it?" 


She hesitated before answering. "Joe contacted me. He warned me not to show myself for now. There’s a bounty on me." 


Robert’s fists clenched. "A bounty? Who’s after you?" 


"I don’t know yet," Adeline said, her voice quiet but resolute. "But Joe’s handling it. For now, we will stay here."
