VACATION 2

When Ember went back to bed after dinner, she still didn't talk much. After Ember had fallen asleep, Jayden exited the room and went for a walk around the area. Jayden could sense the aura of fox souls underground as he stepped onto the ground. As he walked deeper into the woods, some of the souls emerged from the ground. The souls approached him, and some of them flew away.

"Poor soul. How long have you been wandering around?"

"Master, what are you doing here?" Xander was searching for and following Jayden when he noticed Jayden was not around Victor's house.

"Always be alert, because I'm concerned that our arrival here will attract the attention of other fox clans."

"Yes, master, but right now we should go back. Now is not a good time to be around here."

Jayden nodded, and they returned to Victor's house. While they were sleeping, Ember dreamt of the light she saw when she was a child. In her dream, the black light chased her. She ran, and the light followed her. She tripped and fell. She turned around and looked behind her; the light was directly in front of her face, penetrating her face. Then, she awoke from her slumber, shocked. She appeared to be out of breath and sweating profusely. Jayden also awoke from his sleep and looked at Ember, who was sweating and looking pale.

"Are you all right, Ember?"

Ember takes a breath with a bitter expression.

"I'm fine, I'm just having a nightmare."

"Do you want to drink some water? I'll go get you some water."

"No, don't leave me alone. I don't feel like drinking."

"All right, let's go back to sleep. It's just a dream."

"Jayden, hug me, please."

"Okay, now close your eyes, please. Don't be afraid, I'm here."

Being hugged by Jayden, she felt safe in his arms. Ember then slept soundly until the morning.

After breakfast, Victor approached them and said, "There are many beautiful flowers on the hill over there if you want to enjoy the spring. Flowers can only be found in that area. It takes about ten minutes to get there by car."

They were surprised to know that there was a spring nearby. Aubrey exclaimed happily.

"Okay, grandpa. We're on our way there right now."

They arrived there by car after ten minutes. In this place, there are a lot of different kinds of flowers. Finally, they could enjoy spring. They were so happy. With a charming smile, Jayden took Ember's hand in his.

"Let's go over there."

Ember returned his smile and followed him with a bright expression. Aubrey just stared at them before turning to Xander and asking,

"You don't want to take my hand in yours in that way? I'm feeling lonely right now."

Xander blushes with embarrassment, and he tries to pretend. He shows a solemn face.

"Why didn't you bring your boyfriend? If you're feeling lonely."

D-Did he just reject me? This is so embarrassing. Okay, just enjoy this spring alone. I can enjoy it by myself.

"Huh! It's pointless to talk to you. Never mind, I can go alone. I can enjoy these flowers by myself."

With a scowl on her face, Aubrey replied. Then, she turned and walked away from Xander. Did I just make her angry? Why can't I be nice to her? But I can't leave her wandering alone; it's dangerous. Xander sighed and followed Aubrey from behind. Aubrey photographed the flowers as well as herself. Xander just stared at her. She noticed Xander was nearby with her.

"What are you doing here? This place is large. Why are you here?"

She has a dissatisfied expression on her face while he talks to Xander. I bet she's still sulking. I really don't understand women. until when she wants to act like a child. Xander gave Aubrey a serious look before quickly shifting his gaze elsewhere.

You rejected me, and now you're following me. What was wrong with this guy? Did he act tsundere? Aubrey sighed and continued walking around, ignoring Xander. From a distance, Xander continued to follow Aubrey.

Jayden and Ember took pictures together. Since they were together, things got better and better, and they became closer. Jayden expressed his emotions while touching the flower.

"I've never enjoyed spring before."

"How about now?"

"This is the best spring I've ever had. I'm not sure why, but maybe it's because I'm with you."

"We're going somewhere else next spring, and we'll go somewhere else every year after that."

Ember said while holding both of Jayden's hands. Jayden was happy to hear she wanted to spend every season with him. Jayden smiled as he nodded. He placed his hand on Ember's cheek and drew his face closer to hers. Then he kissed her on the lips, and Ember hugged him tightly. The wind blew and flowers flew through the air while they both kissed. They wish this happiness would never end.

There were three cars parked up there as they were walking to the car. There are six of them. They are all female. They also come to enjoy the spring. When they got close, Aubrey overheard one of them say,

"I can't wait for tonight. This village hosts a spring festival."

Aubrey looks at Ember and says, "Did you hear what she said?"

"Yes, there is a spring festival tonight. In my opinion, we should go. Right, Jayden?"

Ember asked Jayden, but Jayden appeared to disagree on his face.

"I think it's not safe to go out at night."

Aubrey frowns after she hears Xander opposes going to the spring festival.

"What do you mean?"

Ember's reaction was sad, and Jayden felt guilty. He knows Ember wants to go to that festival. This is our first spring together. I can't let her be unhappy.

"We can go, but we won't be there for long."

Hearing Jayden's words, they both smiled cheerfully and walked towards the car, holding hands. But Xander was shocked, because Jayden had agreed.

"Master, isn't it dangerous for us to go there at night?"

"Just a moment, I think it will be fine."

They were getting ready to attend the spring festival that night. Ember saw Victor sitting in front of the television. He was watching his favourite movie.

"Grandpa, don't you want to come?"

"No, don't worry about me. I'm too old to go there. I used to go there all the time with my late wife. But now that she's gone, I've just sat at home. Ember, you're married. Enjoy your time with your husband."

"Okay, Grandpa. We're leaving. Take care of yourself."

They went to the spring festival. Many outsiders were also present when they arrived. Many stalls are stacked, and they sell food, toys, handicrafts, clothing, accessories, and other things.

As they walked around, the situation became more crowded as more people arrived. Ember and Aubrey are separated from Xander and Jayden.

"Ember! Ember! Where are you?"

Jayden searched for Ember and called out her name. Ember, on the other hand, was missing.

"Master, Aubrey isn't here either."

With a worried expression on his face, Xander told Jayden, and Jayden started to appear concerned. Jayden takes out his phone and looks at it. I forgot there's no signal in this area. Damn it, we don't have a choice, we have to look for them. I hope they are fine.

"Xander, let's go look for them separately."

They then split up and went in search of the two of them.

"Ember, we've been separated from them. I don't see them. It's far too crowded."

"Aubrey, let's find them together."

Both of them held hands, so they wouldn't separate, and they were also searching for Jayden and Xander.

Ember noticed the dark light as they were walking around looking for Jayden and Xander. Ember was stunned, but her gaze remained fixed on the light. Ember's eyes appeared to be mesmerised slowly. Ember let go of Aubrey's hand and walked toward the light.

"What are you doing, Ember? Where are you going?"

Aubrey asked her, but Ember didn't seem to hear, and her gaze was fixed on the dark light. Because of the crowded situation, Aubrey and Ember are separated when Aubrey pursues Ember. She takes out her phone and wants to make a call, but she just remembers that there's no signal in this area.

Aubrey searched for Ember, but she was nowhere to be found. She starts to worry. Aubrey tries to get out of there by going to a quiet location.

"Where did they go?" Aubrey sighed, and then she heard a noise in the bushes.

"Ember, is that you?"

Aubrey approached and followed the sound until deep inside the woods. Suddenly, the sound disappeared. It was only then that she realised she was far from the spring festival.

"I neglected to walk this far into the woods. I was so careless."

Suddenly, Aubrey felt a shiver down her spine and sensed something behind her.

There is something behind me. What is that? Should I run or try to look? No, I can't run without knowing what's behind me.

She turned to look back slowly, and behind her was a dark fox spirit with red eyes and long fangs, and the dark fox spirit was as big as a lion.

She was shocked, and she almost fainted. What is this scary thing? Don't tell me this is a fox spirit? It's black, it should be the dark fox spirit. I should run away. I bet this creature will not come in peace.

Aubrey took a few steps backwards and then bolted away. Aubrey ran fast, but the dark fox chased her. Aubrey tripped and fell. She turned to look behind her. The dark fox tries to attack her, and she screams, and the dark fox's attack is blocked by the white fox spirit. The white fox engages in combat with the dark fox. The white fox bit the dark fox's neck and clawed at its body, and the dark fox fled because of the pain.

Only Aubrey and the white fox spirit remained. Aubrey simply remained silent, unsure of what to do. Is this a white fox? Did this white fox just save my life?

The white fox's appearance gradually changed. He transformed into human form, beginning with the head, body, and legs, and he was naked. Aubrey blushed, seeing his naked body from behind, and she looked down. Wait, why does he look like someone? She peeked again because she was curious. Aubrey inquired after examining his appearance, which resembled Xander's.

"Xander, is that you?"

With a solemn expression on his face, Xander turned to face Aubrey.

Aubrey ran her gaze quickly.

"Put on your clothes first! You're naked."

Oh right, I've forgotten I'm naked. This is so embarrassing. She saw me naked.

Xander picked up his pants nearby and only wore his pants. After he's done putting on his pants, he examines Aubrey's body to see if she is injured, with a straight face.

"T-Thank you for saving me." Aubrey said as she stood up and cleaned her clothes.

"Aren't you scared of me? Won't you be curious about what I am?"

"I know what you are. You are a white fox spirit, right? And why should I be afraid of someone who saved me? I might have died if you hadn't saved me, and... "

"Stop! You're now safe. Don't say anything bad."

Xander cut her off before she could finish her sentence.

He continued, "We have to find them now and get out of here."

They then proceeded to walk away from there. Aubrey noticed Xander was shirtless and asked, "Xander, where's your shirt?"

"It's ripped."

"Don't you feel cold?"

"Please don't mind me. Just take care of yourself."

Xander responded sternly to her. Aubrey felt offended. She was really hurt by Xander's behavior.

"You are so cruel! I'm just asking, why are you speaking sternly!

Aubrey yelled at him, then she ran past him. She stopped, turned back, and looked at him.

"I hate you!"

She yelled at Xander again. Xander was taken aback by Aubrey's words. Aubrey walked quickly, leaving him behind.

Xander just kept quiet and looked at Aubrey from behind. He also realizes his behavior has already hurt Aubrey, but he doesn't know what to do.
