132 - The Telling Necklace

“It displeases you. I apologize. Belladonna it is then. Who am I to make such cordial abbreviations as if I were a friend.”

“No. It isn't the name.” She shook her head, looking away from him for only a moment as the thought went through her mind once again. “I am just suddenly very tired.”

By the time she looked up at him once again, he was already right in front of her. Then in the next moment, he was pulling her towards his back.

“Rest on this back for now. We can not afford to stop. I would have raced to our destination but I don't have enough life for that.”

While he settled her on his back and placed her hands to circle around his neck for stability, Belladonna’s mind was somewhere else, somewhere very far away. Her heart was pounding with different overwhelming thoughts crossing and slamming against one another in her mind.

It just couldn’t be. It was impossible.

By Ignas, it couldn’t be him. That would make no sense.

It couldn’t be Eli!
