When I turn around I see my best friend Ava Evens , a person I last seen in the seventh grade.
The girl with the grey blue eyes and long blonde hair. 'Yeah she is soft on the eye if you ask me'.
That's when she came ranning towards me and throw her arms around my neck. "I see you are still clingy much?" I hug her back , but push her off the second it is to long.
"You haven't changed a bit? Have you?" Ava asks.
I give her one of the famous Camílla smirks. "What do you think? Does a leopard changes it's spots?"
"Nope." Ava shrugs.
"Well then you have your answer."
"So I'm back to finish my last year on high school here at Riverside high." Ava beams.
I really wonder why Ava left in the first place all those years back , while her parents were still living here all along. I can remember the day after Ava moved to who know's where I went to her house and her mother mrs. Evens had open the door with this sad face. I cried for weeks over this beautiful girl here infront of me. That is also when I started to put my guard up.
"So Ava where have you been for all these years?" She probably thinks that I'm Sherlock Holmes now , for fishing for info like I'm currently doing. Ava always hated confrontation and from the look on her face when I just asked mere seconds ago. But like you know me , I literally don't give a flying shit about what anyone likes and dislikes. I'm gonna ask if I want to know.
Ava breaks out with beads of sweat over her face in just a matter of seconds.
"Well spill it woman." I say getting irritated.
"Well you know what happened all those years back when we were 13. It was in the news after all , but they never named the person who committed the crime. Well they believed it was me who..." Ava begins to answer the inevitable , but just like that she stops herself from telling me the whole truth. "Well to make a long story short , I was at reform school in Boston , New York."
"Mom!" I yell. She came running down the stairs in a hurry.
"Thank you Camílla. What kept you so long this time?" My nosy mother asks. 'Like it would be a total waist of time to even talk to her , she doesn't even really care for me like a mother should.'
"Just found my long lost 'best friend' , nothing serious." I state with sarcasm lased in every word in the sentence , because why does she want to know my every detail of what's currently happening in my life. When I wanted her to listen to all my worries and sorrows , she pushed me away. "But nothing of your concern would be appreciated in this matter, dear mother."
"Ava Evens is back?" My mother ask in shock. "You ain't going near that girl Mílla. Do you understand me?" My mother turns a bit pale from saying Ava's name out loud. The things that Ava told me about here being send to reforming school really rattled me and I got a feeling that this 'shitty mother of mine' got something to do with it.
That's when I decided to go up to my bedroom and do some intensive research on what happened 5 years ago here in , Riverside , that cost Ava to spend 5 years in reform school.
"Camílla! Where the hell are you going now. And remember I don't want you near that so called best friend of yours." My mother says. 'The Evans's are dangerous people and i don't want my baby girl to get involved in all of this mess' I hear my mom mumble under her breath.
"Don't tell me what to do. I'm not that scrawny little kid anymore , who you can push around and talk to like a dog." I utter at Camilla. 'She ain't the title mother worth' I think to myself.
"I'm your mother and you will do as I say and when I say so." My mother threaten me. "You are still under my roof and that means that you'll go by my rules. You get that?" My mother scolds.
I just spin on my heels then and there and walk away pretending that , this conversation never tooked place in the first place.
