Chapter 18

"Tell me more about this Diaan you've been talking so fondly of. She seems to be a good influence on you," Dr Martone prods me on. She's been pestering me since she heard of our infamous sleepover.

Finally deciding to give in I start babbling on and on about what she's like. I tell her everything, from the first day we've met all the way to today's lunch we had with our circle of friends.

It feels so good saying 'friends'.

"That's heartwarming to hear Camìlla. I knew a restart was going to do you wonders, but I didn't expect you to dive all in and run with it. I'm proud of you," she says. A wide smile spread on her face as I looked at her through my laptop screen.

Hearing her tell me that she's proud makes me feel a warm fuzzy feeling inside of me. I've heard people talking of it in the pages of a good book, but never in a million years thought I'd get to experience it for myself.

"There's one more thing–" I say before I stop mid sentence. "Never mind."
