CHAPTER 13

There was a football game in the school's main field early that week. A few minutes before kick off all students and faculty were seated on their side of the stands, ready to cheer their team. Amanda, Nate, Melanie, Jade and Bianca sat together, ready to cheer Benson who was part of the team. Nate sat on one end and Amanda on the other, with their four friends occupying the seats between them. The past weeks had been tough for the couple, Amanda had had enough of Nate. With all the disappearing, the lies, the secrets, the uneasiness. She was sick of it and so she confronted him and it led to a very heated argument between the two.

"What do you want from me Amanda?" He had shouted at her during the argument a few days back.

They were at his house. She had asked him if she could come over and he agreed. An hour later, the door bell rang and there she was. He smiled at her and welcomed her in. She had been to the house a couple of times and knew her way around. She walked into the living room as he closed the door behind them.

He got to her before she could sit down. From behind, he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her to him. "Heyy," he whispered in her ear placing a gentle kiss on her neck. He then made her turn, with his hands still on her waist, he took a step closer and gripped her waist more firmly. "I've missed you." He told her, closing his eyes and covering her lips with his.

Her eyes remained open throughout the entire kiss.

He then went into their kitchen, "can i get you anything?"

"A water will be fine," she replied.

"Are you sure babe, I mean we have juice, soda water-"

"Just a water." She repeated.

He brought her the water in a clear glass and handed it to her, then sat next to her. She took a sip and rested the glass on the small nesting table next to the couch she was on.

She had a white short sleeved crop top and a tennis skirt on. Leaving the lower part of her arm and thighs bare. She felt his fingers trace on her skin. The sensation gave her goosebumps all over her body. She turned only to meet his face with a wide grin that turned into a smirk. He moved in and covered her lips for the second time in under five minutes. She didn't resist or pull back. A small part of her wanted to but she couldn't. Slowly, his right hand found its way on her thighs. Her body grew stiff feeling his fingers play between her thighs, slowly moving further and further under the tennis skirt. He suddenly stopped, pulling his hand back and gently pushing her back to lay on the couch which she did.

He climbed on top of her and leaned to kiss on her lips, then down to her neck. His hands frantically caressing every inch of her body, squeezing on her breasts and she moaned softly. He rose and removed his t-shirt in a hurried manner and leaned back in. His lips on her exposed stomach, his hands playing right under her crop top, ready to take it off.

"Nate," she called softly holding his hands. "Nate." She called again once he didn't respond to the first call.

Nate raised his head and looked at her.

"Can we talk." She requested letting go of his hands.

"Can we do that after," he cried burying his face in her stomach again.

"Nate, I'm serious." He voice was firmer.

Nate pulled away, a very disappointed look on his face. He sat upright and so did she.

Neither she or he had openly admitted it but their relationship had changed significantly over the past weeks. Ever since the party, and it was all thanks to him. He had changed, and it was very evident. She had pretended not to notice what had been going on with him for weeks but that proved hard to do. She hoped he would come clean one day about what was going on with him but he hadn't.

"What's up?" He asked leaning back on the couch.

"Us."

"What do you mean?" He asked, eying her.

"You know what I'm talking about. Our relationship isn't what it used to be." She pointed out, but he was already aware of this.

"Every relationship has its ups and downs. Ours isn't immune babe." He sounded so casual about it and it pissed her off.

"Yes, but that's not what I'm talking about. We used to be so happy, we used to hang out, go on dates, go for walks, to the movies. We used to have late night calls, talk about anything and everything but we have none of that." She paused to read his face. He seemed untroubled. "These days we rarely hang out because you have some place you need to be, we barely talk or do things that we used to. These days we just meet once or twice a week, have sex and that's about it. It's pathetic."

He took a deep breath before he responded. "What exactly do you want Amanda?" He sounded pissed. "Because if it's a date, I can put on my shirt and we can go."

"Nate!" She snapped."Is this a joke to you? I am trying so fucking hard not to give up on us and you can't take any of this seriously even for a second?"

"What do you want from me Amanda?" He shouted.

"How about the truth Nate? The truth!"

"What truth?"

"You have changed Nate, ever since you came back after disappearing off to God knows where-"

He interrupted. "Is that what's really bothering you? My disappearance?"

"No, it's the person you became after coming back. You're so distant, so secretive, always running off to God knows where and it's really taking a toll on this relationship." She was almost screaming at him.

"What do you want me to say?"

"First you can start by telling me where you disappeared off to?"

"I thought we agreed to let that go. Why are you bringing it up again?"

"Because that's when everything changed. I need to know where you were and what happened there."

"I was just taking some personal tim-" She didn't let him finish.

"Don't give me that taking personal time bullshit. I almost went to prison Nate. Prison! So that excuse won't cut it. It may have worked with everyone else but not me."

He just looked at her. He realized he had never seen her that mad. But there was no way he was going to tell her the truth. He couldn't and she saw it in his face, she could tell he wasn't going to tell her anything.

"Nate," she called in a more relaxed voice. "Tell me the truth or I am leaving, right now!"

He exhaled deeply again and took her hand into his. "Amanda just hear me out."

She shot to her feet, pulling her arm free. "Nate I am done. Done with this and done with you." She said to him, tears rushing out of her eyes.

"Amanda lets talk about this." He pleaded, getting on his feet.

"There's nothing to talk about. We're over."

With quick steps, she walked past him, brushing on him. He held her hand back but she yanked it free.

"Amanda!" He shouted but she didn't stop.

In a flash, he was in front of her. She was too pissed to notice how had he gotten in front of her so fast.

"Get out of my way Nate."

"I won't let you leave before we-"

She had had enough of him. She lost it. She raised her hand in a fast motion, aiming her slap for his face but before she could hit him, Nate held her hand back.

He lost it. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" He threw at her.

"Move Nate!" She shouted, pushing him back.

He pushed back using his vampire strength. Next thing he knew, Amanda was flying across the room and she crushed into the mini bookshelf next to the Tv. The silence that followed was deafening. Nate stood in shock, realizing what he had done. He blurred to where she was only to find her body still.

"Oh my God! Amanda!" He called shaking her. "Amanda please wake up." He cried turning her around. The blood running from the corner of her head made his fangs grow and his eyes darken. Only one thing was on his mind. He stared at her neck, ready to feed on her. He fought that urge, fought hard and managed to keep it under control.

He tried to wake her up but she didn't respond.

"Fuck!" He cursed rushing to the couch where his phone was. He quickly dialed with his fingers shaking and pressed phone onto his ear.

"Nate Conner, what can I-" Farian was speaking but Nate cut it.

"Farian," he called in a shaky voice. "Something happened. I need your help. I think she is...I think she is dead. I... I didn't mean ti, it just hap-"

"Woah, woah, slow down. What happened? Who are you talking about?" Farian questioned.

"Amanda, my girlfriend... she came over and we had an argument. I pushed her and I think I hurt her. I think she'd dead."

"Nate listen to me," Farian instructed him. "Take deep breaths and relax. I'm on my way, don't do anything stupid." He warned and hanged up.
