Fell For Him?

Made BY: irrelevant

That was when she knew she fell for him.

"Rose," Her best friend, Julie called her.

"Do you mind, continuing what you were talking about?" Julie added.

Rose was just talking about him. About how terrible and pitiful she thinks he is. Little did she know, that is exactly why she always find herself looking his way. She is drawn to him despite her denial.

"I think..." She paused, taking a deep breath.

"What? You're in love with him, is it?" Julie stated.

As usual, her perceptiveness is impressive. Julie is very perceptive almost as if she has a sixth sense.

"About time for you to realize." Julie smiled proudly looking at Rosie.

Rose smiled back to her. Not shyly or lovingly, but distastefully. She is in disbelief and a little bit frustrated at herself. How could she fall for the "Joseph"? Is it because his voice? His looks? That is the only good thing about the guy. His personality is not that nice. To be exact, he has a very nasty personality. If Lucifer was human, he would probably be Joseph.

"You don't hate him, Rose. You just want to not like him, that you force and make yourself hate him." Julie explained, as she walks to the bedroom window.

Across the street is his house and just like a cliché high school movie, his bedroom window is directly facing Rose's. As if it was all planned and fated, his house just had to be right in front of hers. It is unfair, she thought. She got up from her bed and walked towards the window standing next to Julie.

The two girls stare at the dark bedroom window across the street. He is probably out at a party or doing something stupid. After all it is Friday night.

"It's almost 10. I should head back now." Julie broke the silence.

"Don't stare so intensely. It's illegal, you obsessive stalker." Julie joked, pushing Rosie slightly.

They laughed and greeted each other goodbye before Julie left. It is now only her in her own room. Since she has nothing to do, she continued on her unfinished crochet project. It may be a lame hobby, but it is very therapeutic to her. Rose had always been into arts and craft since she was young. It was thanks to her grandmother.

As she was finishing up for the night, her phone ringed. She expected it to be Julie because she would always leave one thing or two accidentally at her house whenever she comes over. Without looking at her phone, she immediately answer it.

"What is it? Left your book here? A pouch? Your tampon?" She spoke jokingly.

"I don't use tampons, Rosie." A familiar voice said.

It was not Julie. It was a guy's voice. The familiar magnetic voice that she could listen to all day, and there is only one person who likes to call her Rosie. It's Joseph.

"Don't stay up too late doing granny things. A grandma needs enough rest." He said.

He must have saw her crocheting from his room, but his room was dark. It has been dark the whole time. She immediately turn her head to the direction on his house. It was still dark, thankfully. She brushed off her unnecessary thoughts and concluded that he was just messing around and predicted that by luck.

"Stalking is illegal, you know? And I was asleep the whole time. Your call woke me up." She lied.

"Illegal? Then should I report you for doing the same earlier?" He chuckled.

Rosie walk up to her window to look at his house again. His bedroom lights are still off. Could it be that he was observing her in the dark?

"I'm in my car." He said, and waved at her from his car.

How could she not notice? His car had been there the whole time, parked on the street. It is so embarrassing, that she could not help but blush. She was speechless. He must have saw her looking at his window from her bedroom.

Why was he in his car in the first place? Why is he not in his house? Did his parents fought again?

"Why?" She asked hesitantly, looking at him from her window.

"Guess." He replied.

"Your parents?" She answered.

"Ding! 5 points for getting it right on your first guess." He joked.

It was obvious that he had no one to talk to except for her. She knows how bad his life at home is and promised to never speak of it with anyone. She does not know what to do at this moment, so they just let the call go on with only the sound of their breathing.

"How are you?" Rose asked out of the blue.

"I forgot when was the last time I heard that question being directed to me." He laughed.

Of course he is not okay, Rose hung up and immediately went out to him. She did not care how bad she looks like right now in her night gown. After all, he had seen her in a worse condition than right now.

When she approached his car, she saw him inside with his head drooped down. Slowly, she knocked on the window lightly. He immediately lifted his head up. It was dark, but the moonlight was bright enough to lit up his face. He looked terrible. He had tears in his eyes and a few bruises.

Without any other thoughts, Rose swung his car door open and jumped in. It is very rare to see him this hurt and vulnerable. She just could not help herself from wanting to comfort him. She reached her hand to the bruise on his left cheek and caressed it softly. His face is wet from his tears.

It is strange to see him like this. It is almost as if he is a whole different person. He kept on crying, but there is not much she can do but to sit there. So, she sat closer and hugged him.

"Do you like me?" He asked.

She did not know how to answer his questions. She is scared of telling him what and how she feels about him. She does not want to give her answer when he is unstable. It will sound forced and insincere.

"Never mind, I don't want to here your answer. Just stay here for a while, can you?" He asked still being comforted in her warm embrace.

"Okay." She answered.
