Ch 2 Anywhere (6)

"You got it. I am going to leave the door unlocked because I want to build up Ravid's trust with you. I ridged a sensor warning for if someone enters. Try to stay away from the door, so you don't trigger it. It will look bad if I come back here and there isn't anything happening."

"Well that is nice. Hopefully those books are very interesting." I set my empty plate next to me on the bed. Goliath picked it up almost before it was down.

"They aren't the endless entertainment of the net, but they work. I considered picking up the field manuals too but then I thought Ravid might not like you know the specs of anything on board."

"Oh good, so he does know women can be security risks."

"One of the few things women can be, according to him anyway." Goliath left with the two plates and tray before I could ask more questions.

I found the clothes in the foot locker first. Well I guess you could call them clothes, not sure I would have if I had anything else though. There was a black bra and panties which were ok and fit pretty well considering I didn't think they had been made for me. The reset was a problem. There was a completely see through black dress that only went too the tops of my thighs and ended in feathers. The sleeves went to my wrists and also ended in feathers. I wasn't sure what the point of the fabric was because it was not to hide anything. There were also stockings that had two clips on them. It took me a minute to figure out how to wear something like that.

Well, it was better than nothing I guess, which was my only other option. I had wanted to see if there was a mirror in the closet but it didn't open when I touched the panel Goliath had touched before. It made sense, there were weapons in there after all. I went back to the foot locker and looked through it. If he didn't want me looking through his stuff he shouldn't have left me alone in here with so little to do. Or he should have locked it like the closet. I could have broken the lock on the closet, it would have been very easy when I saw what panel was on it but I decided not to for now.

I didn't want to cause problems for Goliath yet, and breaking the lock on camera might get someone else's attention. There wasn't much in the foot locker, just two changes of day clothes for Goliath. I put them back how I found them, then went to the desk. There were two books on the top like he had said. So I checked the titles first. IT by Stephen King. Well hell I am not reading that, life is scary enough right now. The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan, I turned it over and skimmed the summary. Well that might be worth a read.

I tossed it on the bed, but first things first, since I am being nosy anyway. I reached under the desk and tried to open the middle draw. Pens, pencils that needed sharpened, scissors, paper clips, rubber bands. I was surprised I knew what everything was, no one had used this stuff since the 2000s. Could it have just been left from whoever had used this stuff back then? Could the metal desk be that old? It seemed unlikely but maybe.

I closed the drawer and opened another. It had paper, blank paper. Well, that is unique, I thought only printers still had blank paper, for people who wanted something nostalgic. Almost all printed material was rare now as digital took over the world and was so much nicer to use. The military still printed technical manuals for emergency checklists incase the power goes out or the system goes down but that was about all that got printed now. Actually I had been surprised Goliath had found one book onboard, let alone two.

I made sure my back was blocking the cameras view of the drawer as I quickly flipped through the blank pages to be sure they were blank. They were, almost 500 blank pages. I closed the drawer and looked at the next one. It was empty. I tried to open the bottom one but it wouldn't budge when I pulled. I couldn't see a lock anywhere so I made sure the other drawers were closed and tried again. It still didn't move. With a sigh I left it alone. I might not see a lock but odds were good it was locked, which meant it was probably set to warn Goliath if it was opened.

With a sigh I fell back on the bed. With a grown I realized I should not have done that, my side felt like someone punched me. When I could breathe again I found the book I had tossed on the bed and started reading.

It only took three chapters before I got restless. I have no idea how I am going to stay in here for days. There was just enough space to lie down on the floor without hitting anything. I tried to do a sit up but that was a bad idea so I changed to push ups. That was better. Guess I am not doing much core work today. Every time I got bored of one exercise I switched to a different one, care to keep my side still. I continued that until I was panting and tired.

After I went back to reading. I did better almost four chapters before I got too restless to focus. So I set the book aside again and got some more movement in. I thought as I moved it wasn't like there was much else to do.

What do I want? Why? What is the end goal for me? What is their end goal? Why? Where am I? Where do I want to be? How do I get there? What don't I know?
