A Tale of A Thousand Years Ago [14]

His question left me wondering. Should I accept his offer? I mean, he had the power I needed to kill the five kings. Then why was I hesitating?

It was because I didn't know him. Why should I believe someone I'd barely met an hour ago? Why should I put my trust in him? What reasons were there? Should I do it because he was able to see my soul? Or was it because of something else? My mom would have told me to get away from this stranger as fast as I can.

"Okay. Give me the sword then," I said, raising my hand toward him.

There were no such reasons for what I said. There was no need for reasons in the first place. Just a look at my situation objectively told me that I had nowhere else to go and no other person who'd be willing to help me.
