Tribute to the Balls

Yan Fei's almost frozen face stared at the screen in the sky with twitching eyes as his mind shook from shock.

''I feel like that technique wasn't special.'' a martial artist said loudly to start a discussion about the technique.

'Are you really going to talk about the technique? Are you not a man? How could your first instinct after seeing that disgusting... 'thing' be anything but burying that technique to the ground?'

Yan Fei couldn't believe his ears. It seemed as if most people forgot the cruelty of the monstrous technique they just saw. Most people had already forgotten the phantom pain they felt a few seconds ago,

''Yes, you are right. Did you see those faint traces of the Law of Pain floating around the kick?'' someone behind him asked.

'How can you talk about it so casually?' Yang Fei thought in horror.

He felt sick for the first time in his long life despite his cultivation and almost immortal body that was powered through various body strengthening techniques, various pills, and his Deity Ascension stage cultivation.

''Pain? I'm almost sure that was the Law of Torment. They are similar in concept, but they differ as they rise through the levels. I think it was about level 2 in power.'' the martial artist nodded to himself with confidence.

''No, no, no, no. Junior brother, your eyes must have been mistaken because of the shock you received earlier. It was clearly the Law of Death.'' his friend argued and tried to defend his point.

''No, its you who is mistaken. It's true that was the Law of Death floating around as well, most likely to kill any hope for future generations, but along with the Law of Death, Law of Torment was the most prominent in the kick.''

''Oh, I see. T-''

Yan Fei couldn't listen any further.

'How can they talk about the Laws of Pain and Laws of Torment that were used on an innocent person like my ancestor?'

He wanted to throw up. He wanted to burn his blood essence and sacrifice his very being to kill everyone here just because of the way they talked.

'My ancestor...'

He sent a silent prayer to his glorious ancestor's balls and his glorious soul as tears streamed down his face.

His eyes went to his uncle who was hiding his face from embarrassment and humiliation.

'Even he just feels humiliated. No one feels sorry for the glorious Li Qiye's balls...'

He shook his head in disappointment. He would pray for those glorious balls just by himself.

-----

Above everyone else, the Empresses stood still as they took in what just happened. Even the Little Ghost who was absolutely unshaken at everything she had seen on the screen until now seemed a little bit weirded out.

Space Empress's face went between a laughing maniac and a pitying older sister constantly as she couldn't keep her eyes off the screen.

Ice Empress, on the other hand, looked nostalgic. Her small smile and slightly sad eyes gave the picture of the Ice Empress that nobody would even dare to imagine.

She didn't bother trying to hide her feelings anymore. The only people she cared if they found out had already found out. The other cultivators below them couldn't even be a threat to her. She couldn't be bothered to hide her expressions from a bunch of dogs. The only reason she even made an attempt at hiding them earlier was because she didn't want to give any sight of weakness to the other two Empresses.

'Nowadays, my elder brother isn't here to congratulate me on my accomplishments on the Ball Destroying Kick...'

She loved seeing her older brother's expressions more than anything right now as she couldn't see them in the future again. But a sense of dread crept into her heart as she realized that, the more she watched, the less of her elder brother's memory was left for her to enjoy.

She bit her lip in frustration as she started another highest quality remote watching jade slip to record it, just to be sure, in case the other 68 of them lose function for some reason.

[An1: I actually wrote a whole speech from Yan Fei who ridiculed the heartlessness of the cultivators for not being sad at the fate of his ancestor's balls and not being mad at the Great Ball Destroying Kick. But it was too cringy to read, so I deleted it. I can re-write it as an omake in the next chapter if you guys want lol.]

[An2: Nobody really ever complained about it, but I feel like there might have been a little confusion about the difference between the Deity Ascension and the Dao stage.

I said:

[''The reason people called the difference between the Deity Ascension and the Dao stage 'Heaven and Earth' was simple enough to be in their names.

By the time someone completed the Deity Ascension stage, they would be reconstructed thoroughly, from the body to the soul. Dao stage beings were Heavens, compared to the Deity Ascension stage beings.'']

I should clarify it a little bit better. Deity Ascension stage is the stage where you go through the change and become a semi-immortal. Your body and your soul get improved vastly. The process is the Deity Ascension stage.

Dao stage beings are beings who have already gone through the change and became semi-immortals. That's partly why it's called the 'Dao' stage. Because only after this level your body and soul is improved enough to directly feel the laws.

I was about to write more about it, but it feels like I'm worldbuilding through the author's notes, so I will stop. I would normally go back and edit that part to make it clearer for everyone, but many people have already seen it so I think it's better to clarify it with an author note like this.]
