Chapter 3: New Guys in Town

"Oh, Sinclair," replied Jaques, laughing. As he remembered the surname Sinclair, he brushed his lips. One of these families is responsible for the devastation of their community. They're truly tinkering with fate. These three generations of the family are reunited.

"Yes, I was the daughter of one of the town councillors at the time, and now, I'm currently the bastard sister of the vice mayor," Kahlua explained. Jaques simply grinned and took a glance around.

"So, where are you going now?" Jaques asked the young woman.

"In school, how about you?" Kahlua asked her while holding her bag.

"School, too," Jaques said, smiling. "I'm preparing to study again." Kahlua gazed at him with a mixture of surprise and disbelief.

"Are you going to study again? Did you stop?" Kahlua asked.

"Unfortunately, yeah," Jaques replied, sparingly.

"Can you tell me why?" Kahlua asked. Jaques took a step towards Kahlua's vehicle. The woman was right behind him.

"Something awful just happened, and I've been a jerk for years, so this is me now," Jaques explained as he slid open the driver's door of Kahlua's car.

"Sad to hear that," Kahlua replied as he got into his car. "But you're improving. Correcting your history is a wonderful thing." Jaques hid behind it and peered through the open window of the girl.

"Nice meeting you, Kahlua," Jaques said to him while smiling.

"When do you plan to enroll?" Kahlua asked him.

"Perhaps later," Jaques said, "but first I'll fix some things."

"How about you come with me right now and enroll," Kahlua said.

"Really?" Jaques murmured to her as he got into Kahlua's car. Before Kahlua drove her car to San Diego High School, the two exchanged smiles.

Mikaela questioned her friend, "Why are you so grumpy, Bella?" They are now walking down their school's hallway as they prepare to enter their first class.

Many students were in the corridor, clusters of groups of boys, varsity players, discussing the game they had just played the day before. Clusters of ladies talking to their classmates about guys and the group bullies making fun of others.

Isabella reached out and took her friend's hand. They exited the school and made their way to the outdoor courtyard, which was open and airy.

"You know Mikaela, Kahlua wasn't like that before; she's trying to harm me Mikaela!" Isabella raged. The strain on her friend Kahlua was palpable in her tone. Mikaela couldn't stop laughing at Isabella's antics. She's really cute to be angry, with its delicate and sharp voice.

Mikaela caught Isabella's eye. "Do you think that's amusing, Mikaela? I'm the mayor's daughter, and I don't want to disappoint my parents!" Isabella exclaimed angrily.

Kahlua felt sorry for her because of her selfish and egocentric behavior. Her brother Julian rebuked her and accused her of being a bad influence because Kahlua said that she was with Isabella every night to party, which was untrue.

Isabella had no idea that Kahlua has been torturing her for quite some time. And now here she is, enraged at her. Isabella's parents were convinced right away, and she was always sent home early.

Mikaela smiled and said, "Hey, calm down, you know she's going through something." Trying to convince her.

"I don't care, Mikaela! Kahlua is too much and selfish; I need to talk to her!" Isabella exclaimed, turning away from her friend. She bumped with a manly man as she turned her back into Mikaela.

Isabella screamed fiercely at the man, "What the hell?" It has big eyes that are narrow. Isabella was taken aback by the man's attractiveness.

"What?" he asks, staring her down with a blank and emotionless expression.

Isabella asked, "I'm sorry, are you new here?" Her disdainful demeanor had shifted. It was warm and welcoming. She must have a good attitude toward the newcomers to their community, especially because she is the mayor's daughter. She was unfamiliar with its appearance, so she had to be courteous in order to impress the young man.

"Yes and no," he answered. "First, has somebody named Jaques Danovich ever come here?" the young man asked. Isabella and Mikaela exchanged glances. Mikaela looked at Isabella and shrugged.

Isabella inquired, "Sorry, Danovich what?" The young man grinned and took Isabella's arm, which drew Isabella closer to him. Mikaela stepped in right away. She snatched the young man's arm to whisk her companion away, but he was plagued by flashbacks. It's bloody and terrifying. Mikaela took a step back and stared at the young man.

"Tell him if you see or hear his name, I'm going to murder him," the young man hissed in his ear before abruptly releasing it. The man's actions caught Isabella off guard. The man's look caught the two off guard.

When the man left, Mikaela approached Isabella, who was visibly shaken; her dread was evident in her actions. Mikaela, who was holding his arms, questioned, "Are you okay?"

Her lips quiver as she looked at her. Isabella asked, laughing heartily, "Yes, I'm alright; he's just insane, right?"

Mikaela let out a sigh and took Isabella's hand in hers. Mikaela looked at the girl and answered, "I don't think he is." Deeply inhale it. "You know our family is witches," Mikaela explained, "and when I touched her, I had pictures in my head of pure rage, blood, and death."

Isabella said to her, "What? I don't understand."

Mikaela chuckled softly and replied, "Me too, it's just my psychic gift." "Just, we shouldn't approach him; I have a bad feeling about him, Isabella, and we should be cautious," Mikaela said. Isabella simply agreed with her companion and nodded.

When they saw Kahlua with a man, they were preparing to walk to school. Isabella smirked, recalling the sins of the man. This is what came dangerously close to bump her with his car.

"You! I was on the verge of dying!" Isabella exclaimed, pointing to the young guy. Mikaela and Kahlua were taken aback, and they exchanged glances.

"Did you both meet before?" Kahlua asked.

"Yes, and he's trying to kill me!" Isabella exclaimed, scowling at the boy.

"Look, I'm sorry; I was just shocked when you appeared," the young man explained as he withdrew something from his bag's pocket.

"I know this is yours; I attempted to locate you, but you vanished," the young man said to her as he handed her school ID. Isabella snatched her i.d. from the young man's palm and gulped hard. Mikaela laughed softly and remarked, "Awkward." "Who is he, Kahlua?" Mikaela questioned, a glare directed at the man with her.

"This is Jaq," Kahlua remarked, introducing Jaques Danovich, a newcomer to town. Isabella and Mikaela exchanged glances. He was the one who had been mentioned by the man who had approached them.
