Prologue - Welcome to the Villain's World: Chapter 9; Meeting a Freshman

The screen turns as the chapter title plays "Chapter - 9; Meeting a Freshman".

Now it opens on a place called main street. There are a total of seven statues on the sides of the gray brick road. Although they're not super clear, there are four on the left side and three on the right side of the road for sure though. Behind it is one of the many archways of this school.

Yuu and Grim are just walking up to all of them as Grim says "Wow, so this is Main Street, huh? This is Incredible! I didn't get to see much of it yesterday. What's the deal with these seven statues? All their faces look pretty scary." He then points to one of the female states saying "Like, this lady here looks like she's got some repeal anger management issues."

A random boy wearing the student uniform runs up to join them. The boy has orange hair that fades into red and has a little bit of blue on the back at the ends. He also has red eyes and over his right eye is a fake heart.

As he runs up he asks "You don't know the Queen of Hearts?" Both Grim and Yuu are curious but Grim is the one who asks "Queen of Hearts? Is she some kinda big deal?" The boy answers, "She was a queen who lived in a maze-like garden of roses long, long ago."

It then shows a close up of the Queen of Hearts statue. There are roses on the bottom most likely in reference to the previously mentioned rose maze. The queen is on the heavier side of things but still fit non the less. Her expression is smug as she does a curtsy holding out an outer dress layer. She has a crown on her head and in the other hand she appears to be holding something that looks like a lollipop but the top is a heart instead.

The boy comments on how she was "She was a strict woman who prized order above all. She wouldn't tolerate a rose being off-color, or her playing-card soldiers being out of step. She basically ruled over a kingdom of madness, but not one of her subjects dared to defy her. You wanna know why? Because of the punishment…for breaking a rule was immediate decapitation!"

It then switches focus back to the three as Yuu and Grim are both extremely shocked, while the other boy is smirking at their reaction. Grim then says "Wah! That is seriously messed up!" But the boy ignores what Grim says, saying "Pretty cool, right? I'm a big fan. I mean, who would bother to obey a queen that was kind all the time." Grim then changes his tone after hearing that saying "Yeah, true. A leader needs to be strong."

But Grim got smart as he asked the boy "But putin' that aside…Who're you, now?" The boy then answers although slightly embarrassed he didn't introduce himself before "Name's Ace. I'm a first-year student here, as of… today! Pleased to meetcha!" Grim then introduces himself "I'm Grim! I'm a prodigy who's plannin' to be, like, the greatest mage who ever lived." Yuu was about to introduce herself but Grim interrupted her saying "That there's my far less interesting hench-human." She shows an embarrassed smile and waves. Ace then thinks for a second before remembering orientation and saying "'Yuu'? Huh. Name's got an odd ring to it." Yuu shoots Grim a glare, deciding to just drop the whole hench-human thing as she tells the boy "It's nice to meet you."

But Grim's interest is drawn back to the statues as he asks "So tell me, Ace. Is that lion with a scar in the eye a famous ruler too?" Ace answers immediately "Of course!"

It then shows the lion statue in question up close. It's a normal adult male lion, at most there are a lot of scars or the statue has just been chipped a lot. He's standing on a rock but next to it on a lower down part is a skeleton of some random creature, although unclear what kind.

Ace then explains this statue "That's the King of Beasts who ruled the savanna. But he wasn't born into the throne – he had to earn it through hard work and elaborate schemes. When he became king, he decreed that the hyenas would be pariahs no more, and should live among his subjects as equals."

Not zooming out Grim says "Sounds like a great guy! Not everyone's able to look past social status like that."

Grim then moves topics asking "Who's the lady with the octopus legs?"

It now shows a different statue, this one of a female octo-mer. Also on the heavier side but makes sense because she's an octopus who are mostly muscle anyway. She also has a smug look on and she's holding what appears to be a contract although it's not readable. The final details are her shell necklace and the fact that the stone makes it seem like she's on a wave.

Ace now explains this one "The Sea Witch who lived in an underwater grotto. She basically devoted her life to helping troubled merfolk. If they were willing to pay the price, she'd help them change their appearance, find love, whatever! They say she was so good, there was no wish she couldn't grant. They also say the price was a tad steep, though. But she was granting wishes! Of course it was!"

Grim then let out an excited "Myaha!" before asking "So you're sayin' once I'm a great mage, gettin' rich off folks will be a total cinch?!" Now excited he asks "Oh, oh! Do the dude with the big hat next!"

The statue he was talking about comes into focus. It has a snob-ish look on the face, and it seems like he's surrounded by clouds at the bottom. His clothes are extremely fancy and he even has a cape. The statue is also holding a cane but on the top it has a cobra head design.

Ace explains "That's the Sorcerer of the Sands. He was an advisor to a total dolt of a sultan. He was a smart guy. Really capable sort. He exposed this swindler once – some guy pretending to be a prince in order to trick the princess! After that, he got this magic lamp and became the greatest sorcerer in the world. Then they say…he used that power to become sultan himself!"

Grim then exclaimed "Wow! Guess it's true that a mage needs to be an excellent judge of character, huh?" Then he spots another statue and asks "And what about this beauty over here?"

It then switches focus to a fifth statue. This one was also female and appeared to have also been some kind of ruler due to the crown on her head. She was wearing more of a robe piece than an actual dress, and had a flowing cape behind her. Her outfit also covers up everything but her face and hands. There was a rope around her waist and in one of her hands there was an apple, but something was poured over it that made it look like a skull on top. On the bottom it was mostly stones but there was also an open book and a box that had a lock that was a heart with a sword through it.

Ace explains her story next "She's a queen who was said to be the fairest in all the land. In fact, she used her magic mirror to check how she ranked on a daily basis! When it looked like her position was threatened, they say she'd do whatever it took to keep it. Can you even imagine the level of dedication it would require to keep a record like that? Also, they say she was a master of making poisons!"

Grim is kinda frightened as he says "Geez. She's pretty, but that sounds kinda scary." But Ace only responded with "You think so? I gotta respect the hustle!" Grim is now even more wary as he says "F-for sure… Sounds like she fought hard for what she believed in, and never gave up!"

Now moving on Grim asks about the next statue "And that one there, with the flaming head? Now THAT guy looks scary!"

Now moving on the said statue, which seems to be simpler than some of the others. On the bottom it makes him seem as though he's standing on flames. He looks like he's wearing a shirt that fits, then a shirt that's a couple sizes too big for him and there's a piece of fabric pinned to the larger shirt with something that looks like a skull. His hair as mentioned before seems to be made of fire. While his expression seems rather normal on one of his fingers in a flame that doesn't seem to be able to hurt him at all.

Ace then explains this guy's story but starts off with a bit of a scary voice that he drops after the first sentence. "That's the King of the Underworld! Single-handedly ruling a kingdom packed with rambunctious spirits – that takes competence! He may look scary, but he was a straight shooter who worked tirelessly at a tough job he never even asked for. I mean, this is a guy who was ordering Cerberus, the Hydra, and the Titans into battle for him."

Grim comments "Hmm. That IS something. T'think he could have that much power and not let it go to his head!" Now asking about the last statue he continues with "And that last one there, with the horns?"

Now onto the last statue it's also female making there be four girl and three boy statues. This statue has what looks like thorns all along the bottom coming up at her. Her face is one of pride. Her outfit is an actual robe, but the sleeves are all long and drawn out with it taking a ripped appearance and a high neck piece as well. Her hair was covered as well just like the fairest queen but it seemed like she had horns as well. She was also holding a staff but it looked rather normal; the top design looked like an orb was budding out of the staff.

Ace then explains for the last time about this statue "That's the Thorn Fairy who lived up on a mystical mountain. She was noble and elegant, and a master of magic and curses – even by the standards of these seven! She commanded storms, covered the kingdom with thorns… She could use magic on a massive scale! She could even turn herself into a giant dragon." Grim then says amazed as well "Ooh, a dragon! What all monsters yearn to be!"

It then cuts back to the three of them, with Yuu and Grim having an amazed daze in their faces. Meanwhile Ace looks smug as he says "Pretty cool, huh?"

He then pauses with a smirk and says "Not like some piddling familiar."

The screen fades to black as "To be continued" plays before fully turning off.
