Book 2 - The Usurper from the Wilds: Chapter 8; An After-School Mission

The screen turns on as the chapter title plays "Chapter - 8; An After-School Mission".

It opens in the school infirmary, there were a few beds that lined the walls with windows behind each one. There was a small divider at the heading of each bed with a small drawer chest on the right side of each bed that had a trio of lit candles at the top of each one. On the left most side of the room was a storage cabinet, at the highest point there were a trio of opening drawers with a clear piece of glass in the middle to allow easy viewing then bellow that there were thin pull open drawers and lastly at the bottom another trio of swing opening drawers but this time they were entirely wood and shorter in length than the top ones. Next to that there was a small desk with a few random pieces of medical supplies, most likely ones that had just been used and not been put away yet with a simple stool for a chair.

Grim and Yuu walk in as Grim calls out "All right, where's this guy who hurt his ankle."

The two students from before, those being the one that tripped and the one that helped him over to the infirmary, were then seen.

The one who fell, was sitting on the bed asked "Huh?" As the one who helped the other recognizes them and tells the other happily "Hey, it's the ones from Ramshackle House! They were at the unbirthday party!" Also remembering how they helped out with Riddle's change in attitude about the rules, as he waves them over asking "What are you guys doing here?"

As they walk over Grim quietly tells Yuu "Get a load o' that! We're totally famous!"

Once over there Yuu tells them "We'd like to ask about your accident."

But the student who fell told them "I wish I knew what happened myself, man. I was walking along, talking to my friend-" as he pointed over to the other student "And next thing I knew, BOOM! I was tumbling down the stairs." He then shrugs as the other also adds his input on the situation "Yeah. I didn't even see him stumbling or anything." The student who fell then tells them his last piece "It was like my body just lurched forward by itself. I can't really explain it."

Yuu narrows her eyes as she tries to think while Grim says "Hm. Hmmm. Interesting. Veeery interesting." Yuu then bows her head slightly before telling them "Thank you for your cooperation."

Her and Grim then walk out, going to interview the next person.

Which just so happens to be in a classroom.

Her and Grim then walk up to two Pomefiore students as Grim very insensitively asks "Hey, you. You had an accident and almost got hurt real bad, right? Give us the deets."

Which very clearly set off some alarm bells in their heads as the one with more purple-ish hair asks "And why should I answer to you, exactly?" As the other with more tan hair says to them "He was in peak condition for the Spelldrive tournament and got hurt so bad that he can't even play now!" The purple haired one then sarcastically asks "And you're here to…what, rub salt in my wound?"

His voice then takes a more annoyed tone and his face also fully shifts to one of anger as he yells at them "We throw down the gauntlet! Duel us!"

Before they are forced to start a deal with those two students.

The two Pomefiore students luckily lose, as the purple haired one says a little out of breath "Hmph… You're better than I thought." Before fully catching his breath and telling them "All right, then. I'll give you the skinny."

The tan haired student tells them "It happened in the laboratory. We were boiling up a potion when his hands suddenly shot out and grabbed the screaming hot cauldron. He dumped out every last drop. It was bizarre! Made a real mess too." This bothers the other student as he yells at the other "Oh, so YOU'RE gonna do all the talking?!"

Grim then says again "Hm. Hmmm. Interesting. Veeery interesting."

Yuu then says to Grim "Let's head back to the dorm for now." while silently wishing the injured student a quick recovery.

As the two walk into Ramshackle dorm Grim tells her "I dunno, this just looks like a bunch of absent-minded kids hurtin' themselves to me. If there's a scandal here, I ain't seein' it!"

Just then there was this buzzing sound, which caused both Yuu and Grim to look around confused as Grim asked "Huh? Whozzat?"

As it turns out it was Ace ringing their faulty door bell, as he walked in just then saying "Mornin'. Guess you're feeling better now, huh, Grim?"

Grim then gets entirely unenthusiastic as he says "Oh, it's you." Before telling Ace "We're kinda busy right now. No time for kid stuff. Scram." Ace then asks confused "Busy? What, you got a lot of homework?" which caused Grim's ears to prick up.

Yuu simply sighs as she knows that now they'll have to explain so she tells him "You might want to sit down…" Before they all headed into the dorm's messed up lounge. Yuu and Grim then fully explain what Grim meant by his statement earlier.

Afterwards Ace asks to confirm "Injuries from suspicious accidents, huh?" Yuu nods as Grim further informs Ace "But nothin' we heard sounded all that suspicious. It seemed like they were all just excited about the tournament, got distracted, and hurt themselves somehow."

But suddenly Deuce ran in at just that moment screaming "Ace! We got a big problem!"

But this just confuses Ace and the Ramshackle duo are more confused as Ace tells Deuce "Dial it down, Lossey-Deucey." before asking "What is it?"

Deuce, still in a panic yells "Trey fell down the stairs! He's hurt!"

This makes Grim and Ace become a bit more worried or panicked as they yell at the same time "What?!"

Grim then asks "Myah! He's the sneaky one with the glasses, yeah?" Oh which Deuce nods to.

Yuu knows that this must be apart of the same case as she tells them "Hard to believe he got "distracted" too." Ace nods as he confirms "Yeah, Trey wouldn't just trip and eat dirt."

Grim then says "Let's go see what he's got to say!"

And as they all run out to Heartslabyul the screen turns to black and "To be continued" plays before it fully turns off.
