Book 2 - The Usurper from the Wilds: Chapter 13; A Spelldrive Fight

The screen turns on as the chapter title plays "Chapter - 13; A Spelldrive Fight".

The trio of students look surprised as the red-brown haired one shouts "Housewarden Leona!"

This time both Leona and Ruggie were wearing their dorm uniforms.

Leona's outfit differs some as he's the housewarden, with the most obvious ones being his dark brown chaps and his belt accessories. His shirt differs from the rest of the dorm by featuring an asymmetrical cut, with one side falling over his jeans, and the other tucking above them, revealing a bit of his waist. The leather vest has a design reminiscent of a "double-rider" biker jacket, with silver buttons and zippers. The jeans are a cool gray with visible creases; in Leona's case, his jeans are mostly covered with dark-brown chaps that connect to his belt of the same color. Over his belt is a bandana, wrapped around his waist and tied together with two silver rings on his left side. Draping over the bandana is a layer of stitched-together fabric in various shades of brown. The fabric hangs on Leona's left side and resembles a patchy fur pelt. Despite the average Savanaclaw uniform including black biker boots, Leona instead chooses to wear dark brown dress shoes with block heels and a bronze-color stripe over the center. He also wears black short-length gloves. Then with jewelry Leona wears a loose choker and two bracelets on his left wrist with this pattern of beads. Additionally, he wears another necklace solely made up of golden beads with several fang-shaped pendants, as well as one more bracelet on his left wrist, also made up of golden beads.

Then Ruggie's uniform is similar to the rest of the Savanaclaw students. But unlike a majority of Savanaclaw students, Ruggie's shirt is not sleeveless, and is instead a large, short-sleeved t-shirt. He wears his shirt over the jeans, covering his waist. The leather vest has a design reminiscent of a "double-rider" biker jacket, with silver buttons and zippers. The jeans are a cool gray with visible creases. Over his jeans are black leather biker boots. He also wears one black, leather driving glove on his right hand. While most Savanaclaw students wear their orange-yellow bandana around their waist, Ruggie chooses to wrap it around his neck like a scarf. Ruggie's jewelry consists of two low-hanging necklaces with this pattern of beads, but they are mostly covered by his vest and bandana.

The pinky haired one also shouts in defense of their actions "These students are trespassing on our territory!" The silver haired says as well "Let's teach 'em a little lesson!" Before laughing with an evil grin.

Ruggie then looks at the group, mostly Grim though as he says "Ah, I believe we met earlier, at the cafeteria."

Grim then shouts at him "Hey! It's the Grilled Cheeseburglar!" Ruggie says back "Hey now, friend. Let's not get carried away with such delicious-sounding nicknames. I have a proper name befitting my manly stature. It's Ruggie Bucchi. Don't wear it out."

Leona also scans over them to see who exactly they were before stopping to glare at Yuu and Grim as he says "Hey… I know you. You're the herbivores who stepped on my tail at the botanical gardens."

The red-brown haired one essentially stuttered out in anger "You…You stepped on the housewarden's tail?" The pinky one then shouts "Now you're really gonna pay!"

Yuu shouts back at them "And I AM sorry about that!" The red-brown haired one shouts in response "'Sorry' is not good enough!"

Ruggie also thinks back and remembers saying "Oh, that's right. I thought I'd seen you somewhere. It was at the gardens, huh?"

The pinky haired one urges Leona and Ruggie shouting to them "C'mon, Leona, Ruggie – let's beat 'em up!"

But Leona simply rolls his eyes as he tells them "Stop yappin' like a pack of wild dogs. You really wanna risk starting a fight before the tournament? What if you get disqualified?" The silver haired on shouts "What, so you're just gonna let 'em walk away? Not even nibble on 'em a little?!"

Leona smirks as he answers "No one's lettin' anyone walk away. We're gonna resolve this with a "friendly" game of Spelldrive." The red-brown haired one asks curiously "Spelldrive?" Leona's smirk turns bigger and has a twist of evil in it as he answers them "After all, it doesn't violate any school rules to cast spells during a game of Spelldrive."

Ruggie then does his spray bottle hyena laugh before he says "I doubt these weaklings could endure so much as a single game."

Grim then shouts "Welp, I'm not takin THAT lyin' down!" As he turns to the rest of them and tells them "Now we got no choice but to fight." Deuce shakes his head and shrugs as he says "You say that like we had a choice to begin with." Ace doesn't seem to really care anymore as he shouts "All right fine! You're on!" Before shouting at Cater "Cater! Remember this when you pick the official team!"

Cater puts a hand to his head as he says "Are you kidding me here…? Hashtag #lame. All right, let's do this…"

Then as they walk off to the area for the game Cater states "Yuu, you watch from the sidelines."

Which after a little debate, was decided to be allowed.

Cater smiles as he leans in and whispers to Yuu "Try to read their movements and convey it to us, okay?"

They then all reach the stadium as both teams prepare to play.

The playing field itself looked similar to a football field, while the way the stands were made up it looked to be more of a hockey-coliseum style. The goals themselves were there circles lifted slightly off the ground with the bigger of the circles having two parts one that was on the ground while the other was levitating slightly above making it look almost like a complete circle. Then inside that was a smaller metal ring that was the main goal and worth more points.

The Heartslabyul team plus Grim ended up losing the game in the end despite doing fairly well till the middle.

But it became clear that they were no match when Leona finished the game by shooting a disk halfway across the field and managed to get it in the tiny hole still.

Grim is panting heavily from the game, as Ace pants out "No way… We didn't score once!" Deuce had the time to catch his breath as well, despite being an athlete, as he says "There's not a single weak link in their defensive line!"

But Cater is still kinda catching his breath as he says "Listen, Leona, sweetheart… Everyone knows you're a Spelldrive legend… You know we can't compete against you!"

Leona smugly asks at Cater's request "What's that? You givin' up already?" Ruggie does his laugh as he asks sarcastically "Where's all that swagger go?"

But Leona ignores Cater's plea to stop as he tells them "On your feet, herbivores. We're having a rematch!"

This makes Yuu shouts asking from the stands "How is this any different from being beaten up?"

Just then Jack walks into the Spelldrive stadium as he asks "What's goin' on here?" Leona answers nonchalantly "Huh? We're just having a little fun with some trespassers."

Jack frowns at this and asks "What's fun about tormenting amateur players?"

This makes Ruggie tease him though saying "What's thiiis? Look at you, Jack! Heroically standing up for the downtrodden! How woefully admirable." Before he does his laugh. Jack scowls as he says back, kinda annoyed now "I'm just saying this is a disgusting spectacle and I don't wanna have to see it."

Leona is silent as his smirk and smile falls before saying "Well, thanks. Now you've ruined all our fun."

The red-brown haired boy shouts him the question "Whoa, Jack. You DO realize who you're talking to, right?" Jack crosses his arms getting more annoyed as he says back "If you're gonna play the upperclassman card, you oughta act the part." with disgust littering his voice. The silver haired one then shouts at him "Whaaat did you say to me?! You want a piece of this too?!"

Leona lets out a single breathy laugh as he tells Jack "Pretty bold, frosh. I guess I can respect that."

Then Leona's mood and aura seems to take a one eighty as he says "All right, I'm bored now. Running up the score against you chumps ain't accomplishin' a thing."

He then turns and tells Ruggie "Let's go, Ruggie." As he starts to walk away. Ruggie follows him walking with his hands behind his head, before turning his head and telling them "Toodles." before fully focusing on leaving.

The trio of students frown. But the pinky haired one warns them "You lot better think twice about invading our territory again!" Before they also walk off.

Yuu looks at all of them thinking 'Is everyone okay?' But decides to instead thank Jack before checking them for injuries from the game.

So she walks up to him and does a light bow telling him "Thank you very much."

Back with the people on the field, Cater chuckles as he tells the freshman "Well, I can't say that was my finest moment on the field."

Deuce also thanks Jack saying "Thanks for the help, Jack."

Jack rubs the back of his head, slightly embarrassed, as he tells them "Save it. I ain't in the business of charity work." Although his tail is wagging slightly indicating he is at least kinda happy.

Although Yuu is the only one who sees it and just smiles at the fact he's happy with helping them, even if only a little.

Ace then complains "I'm drenched in mud over here! Let's call it a day and go home." Grim agrees as he says "Yeah, I'm gettin' pretty hungry over here."

Cater smiles at Jack as he tells him "All right, Jack, we're taking off." before mostly teasingly telling him "Don't get in any accidents, you hear?" As he waves his finger at his in an absolutely joking manner.

Jack scowls but if you look close enough you can see a trace of a smile poking through as he tells them "You've got a whole lotta nerve to be worrying about me. Now scram already."

They then walk away but it's still focused on Jack, who's silent but seems to be thinking hard about something.

The screen then fades to black as "To be continued" shows on screen before it turns off.
