The truth was out, or so it seemed on the surface, the real game was something none were aware of at the moment.

Deaths that Amir can't afford, as these men belonged to his Cousin, a hateful cousin who tried to use him for his own selfish purpose. But it's not like didn't understand his cousin's perspective. 

Ludwig is not the kind to easily take a loss, nor does he look down on his opponents when writing the contracts. So although the little game he played on Crow early on was mischievous and filled with a sense of superiority over his triumph, he still did his best to leave certain conditions that would make it easier for him to fight in case Crow succeeds. 

Which was impossible in his eyes, but who knows, miracles happen, and they did happen this time.
