Rising Sun Guild!

"This is the main hall of the guild. It's where we accept commissions and assemble our party, plan, and prepare before heading out."

There were many people in the guild, and many were looking at the commissions and discussing their plans around a table with drinks in hand. There are many people here. Their levels probably range around 100 or so, for Jeanne to join the main branch and be one of the 8 rays, with her level only being a hundred is quite impressive, but it looks like the others aren't that impressed with her, as when they saw her they just gave her the stink eye, before going back to their drinks.

"It seems like you aren't that popular, captain Jeanne."

Jeanne just laughed nervously, and we entered the lounge area.

"Well, as you know, becoming a captain who's only level 100 despite many others being 20 or 50 levels above me or those who's already in level 200, yet the guild master gave me the position."

Yep. that'll definitely piss off the guild members, though I understand why she's chosen as captain though, it's because of her class, and the way she built it, making her a valuable teammate in guild wars, or team battles, and a great party member to include when grinding for levels, and dungeons.

"Then we're going to the Rising Sun library."

She lightened up immediately, and the two of us walked to the library. She pulled out a badge, the same one as I have, and showed it to the entrance guard of the library. I too pulled out the badge, and the guard allowed me entrance to the library.

"There are a lot of books in here."

"Mhm, now choose a skill you want to learn, but remember just one."

I went deep into the library and went into the skillbook section, and skill books lined up on the shelves, there are only three ways to gain skillbooks in this world, either it was dropped by a mob which could take real-life days of farming, the user has enough intelligence and mastery over the skill to make one, or a or NPC gave them a skillbook as a reward.

"For them to have many skill books."

There was the last thing to consider, though, the auction house. People can also sell skillbooks at a high price at that, as there are no class restrictions for skills, but learning them has a lot of prerequisites, and that class-specific skills are harder to learn than normal skills.

But I have at least 250 above in all of my stats, so learning a skill from different classes shouldn't be a problem. There are a lot of skills that I want, but for now, a recovery spell should suffice.

[Greater Rejuvenation]

[Prerequisites: Vitality: 260 Intelligence: 200 Magic Power: 100]

The skill Greater Rejuvenation is commonly seen in high-level tanks since it regenerates their health for 5% of health lost per second, and the stamina recovery rate is much faster improving it by 25% and this is all at the beginner level.

[You met the requirements. Do you want to learn the skill 'Greater Rejuvenation'?]

Although I can kill enemies before they reach me, I plan to go to higher-level areas soon, since I won't level up in this place anymore, and it's better safe than sorry, to have health regeneration, rather than not, also the nice bonus of having more stamina recovery rate.

[Yes]

The skillbook shone, and the entire lighting up the entire library as the skillbook disappeared from my hands.

[You've learned the skill 'Greater Rejuvenation'!]

[You now have the skill 'Greater Rejuvenation' Beginner!]

At least I won't die from damage over time now, like poison, wither, bleeding effects, and such, but from what I've heard, it consumes stamina rather than mana.

"So, you've chosen a skill."

Jeanne peaked out of the corner as she smiled at me.

"Yes, I've chosen the skill 'Greater Rejuvenation' since I often find myself in precarious situations."

"Alright, if that's what you want, then our next stop is the armory."

Jeanne tugged at my arm, and I followed her to the next area. We entered the armory, and there were a lot of common magical items on the walls. Instead, we went deeper, and there was a door with the shape of the badge engraved on the door.

"Clarent, place your badge here, and it should open up."

I placed the badge over the engraving; it shone, and the door opened by itself, revealing the guild's treasury. There were a lot of Epic to Rare items, but the guild leader promised me a unique item, so I'll get the unique item.

"I'll let you get the unique item, but remember only one."

I looked at a couple of items, and nothing seem to find my interest, but there was one though, that piqued my interest a little.

***

[The Lost Belt of the Fire Giant Thakdos] (Unique)

Effects: +100 Strength, +50 Vitality, +50 Magic Power, your fire damage deals an additional 50% damage, and you become immune to fire damage.

Additional Effects: SEALED

The lost belt of the fire giant Thakdos is made of special material and has runes engraved on it that make the wielder stronger and their flames hotter. Thakdos used this belt during the raid of Zirfas, a country of sand and heat, but during his slumber, someone stole the belt, and Thakdos. It is up to you if you want to return the belt or not.

Condition of Use: Vitality: 250 Strength: 300 Level 80

***

"I'll take this."

Jeanne looked at me confusedly and she asked.

"Hmm, are you sure? The condition of use on this item is ridiculous. You may have gotten the level requirement, but how about the strength and vitality requirements?"

I equipped the item and felt the strength flow inside my body, and Jeanne looked rather shocked as she thought I'd be more oriented toward agility, and magic power based on how fast I was while evading the twin-headed troll, and the fact my blue flames killed a Dragonoid immune to fire made her think I invested more into magic power.

"See, also, we've transported to the main branch, right? Where is that located exactly?"

Jeanne scratched the back of her head, forgetting about that. Then the next few words that she said shocked me.

"We're at the border of the demonic lands, also called Ulric's front."

Ulric's front, the border of the human empire and the demon empire. Never-ending skirmishes happen here, where humans and demons clash every day. The casualties on both sides are astronomical, and the proud human empire leaned on the players to help them, well only one guild helped them, with the guild leader being a priest of the sun, which boosted the popularity of the sun priests be it Ra or Helios, the class itself became famous for giving birth to the legendary class Saint of the Everlasting Light.

"This is the perfect place for me to farm EXP! And reputation!"

Jeanne, look at me like I'm crazy. I would as well, for the levels of the enemies here are 250 and up, the only reason the players could hope to defeat some of them is that there are guards that match their level, and players would provide as much support as they can, players between the level of 100 and 200 use this place to farm EXP, but since the Rising Sun guild showed up, they occupied the entire Ulric's Front and claimed the area as theirs.

"That's crazy."

"I know."

Even though it is crazy, with the guards and her help. It would be a breeze to conquer the front, though the only reason the Rising Sun guild hasn't conquered Ulric's Front yet is that they're afraid to lose this perfect farming area.

"Jeanne, please help me."

Jeanne thought about it, and she said.

"No."

"What?"

"I said, no!"

She was worried that I'd die, for if a player dies they'll lose a random item, and lose 5 levels, which is a harsh punishment, but I have a plan that would easily convince her.

"Captain Jeanne, weren't you having a hard time leveling up? From the looks of it, you're still stuck at level 100?"

But most importantly, humans are selfish, and thus will protect themselves more instinctively, rather than protect someone else they'd prioritize their safety first, for that she's afraid that she'll lose 5 levels and lose one of her precious items, I mean who wouldn't those were hard-earned for after all.

"Don't tempt me!"

"Come on, if we both go there, then it'll be a breeze, my flames, which bypass the immunity, and the buffs you provide can overturn the entire battle to our favor."

I cornered Jeanne in the treasure room, trapping her there, waiting for an answer. Jeanne contemplated about it, then she said.

"Fine, but you'd have to join me in field raids for the next five days."

I hugged Jeanne for a second and released her. I didn't notice it, but her cheeks were all red.

"I'm looking forward to working with you, captain!"
