Bloody Massacre

A single move from Zhang Baichi had taken someone's life.

The disciples of the Broad Wisdom Sect including their leader, and Yu Hao stared at the headless body on the ground in shock. They stood petrified by what they just witnessed.

Every one of them had fought against Demonbeasts before so they were no strangers to bloody fights or even deaths, but to see one of their own fall right before their eyes was different.

They all knew each other's strength quite well and had fought together for a few weeks already.

While the dead disciple was far from the strongest among them, he was also not weak by any means. For him to die to Zhang Baichi's sword without being able to react was a horrifying sight.

Yu Hao stared at the headless body as well; He had not expected Zhang Baichi to be so ruthless.

However, he also knew that Zhang Baichi's words were true: The disciples from the Broad Wisdom Sect were already trying to kill them, and the two of them couldn't possibly let that happen.

Since those disciples dared to aim for the kill, why should they not be allowed to do the same? Should the repay enmity with kindness? Or let themselves be killed, instead?

Within seconds, Yu Hao resolved himself and a vicious glint flashed through his eyes.

He moved and thrust his sword forward, plunging it into the heart of one of the disciples in front of him. The latter stared at him in utter disbelief and slumped to the ground.

"Playtime's over, then.", Yu Hao muttered, his hand slightly shaking. This was the first time he had killed another human.

He might be a cultivator, but he was also still just a young man, and he didn't have any Special Constitution that allowed him to fight without emotion like Zhang Baichi had.

'He's really incredible… He can even adapt to something like this?' Zhang Baichi's eyes stayed on Yu Hao's back for a moment.

It seemed like his gamble had paid off. Yu Hao was indeed someone worthy to befriend, and to give something as invaluable as True Dragon Blood to.

"Y-You-!", one of the two other disciples surrounding Yu Hao together with their leader stared at Yu Hao with a face as white as paper.

He was absolutely terrified, and failed to react to Yu Hao's second attack, losing his head much in the same manner as the one killed by Zhang Baichi.

Though, his death was most likely more painful, as Yu Hao was not able to cut his head off as Zhang Baichi could with his Quasi-Sword Intent.

"Sorry, leader's orders. We're not to leave any roots behind today.", Yu Hao spoke to the dead man, then turned around to face the next disciple.

Zhang Baichi's eyes darted to the side, as the one to first regain their wits was not the Broad Wisdom Sect's leader, but one of the disciples at the side. He cursed out loud and charged at Yu Hao from behind.

With extreme speed, Zhang Baichi stepped in front of the disciples, cutting off his way to Yu Hao. While momentarily stunned, the disciple's eyes flashed with madness the next moment. "Die!"

His sword aimed at Zhang Baichi but was met with a strike from Zhang Baichi as well.

Unexpectedly, there was no clash between the two.

Enhanced with the Quasi-Sword Intent, Zhang Baichi's sword cut through his opponent's weapon like a knife through warm butter, cleaving it in half without any resistance.

The tip of the sword fell to the ground, closely followed by the severed half of the disciple's body.

Blood and guts spilled over the ground, yet no scream was heard. Another had died with a single strike.

In total, five people had already died here; Three killed by Yu Hao and another two killed by Zhang Baichi.

Of the originally ten disciples of the Broad Wisdom Sect, only half remained now.

The leader of the Broad Wisdom Sect's disciples finally regained his wits after witnessing another murder and distanced himself from Yu Hao. "Run away! Split up and run!"

'We can't kill them! F*ck, why are both of them such monsters?!', he turned tail and ran towards the woods in the distance after barking out his orders, much to the dismay of the surrounding disciples.

For a short moment, Zhang Baichi stared at his back, then turned to Yu Hao. "Kill them all."

He darted forwards, past another disciple of the Broad Wisdom Sect. His sword once again flickered, and another head was separated from its body as Zhang Baichi chased the fleeing leader of the Broad Wisdom Sect.

Morale had dropped to rock-bottom among the remaining three disciples of the Broad Wisdom Sect and they ran away in a disorderly fashion.

Yu Hao, still concentrated and cold-blooded, had no issue chasing them down one by one, finishing off the remaining three in just two minutes.

Zhang Baichi chased after the disciples' leader, catching up to him in a matter of seconds.

He did not even bother hiding his presence and simply stormed after the leader with his Torrential Stampede Movement Technique.

Compared to Zhang Baichi's explosive speed, the young disciple might as well have been walking instead of running.

Still a few metres away, Zhang Baichi's eyes turned to the disciple's legs and a thought flashed through his head.

He still had some rudimentary knowledge of anatomy from his previous world's medicinal knowledge, as well as the memories of a master physician of this world.

'Killing him now would be a waste. Let's cripple him first and see what information he can give us.' His sword flickered once more and a silvery-white light shot through the air, striking the Broad Wisdom Sect's leader with pin-point accuracy.

With a pained scream, he tumbled and fell to the ground. He immediately tried to stand up again, only to notice that he could no longer move his right leg, nor could he channel his Qi through his leg at all.

Before he could truly realize what was going on, Zhang Baichi had appeared in his peripheral vision, and moved to his side just moments later; His speed was staggering.

The leader's face was ashen, but Zhang Baichi's sword moved another three times before he could even speak.

His shoulders and left leg were struck in quick succession, again with pin-point accuracy.

The limbs lifelessly dangled on his body, and the Broad Wisdom Sect's leader realized to his horror what Zhang Baichi had just done.

Both of his legs and both of his arms; All four of his limbs had been crippled in an instant.

"Monster- You're a monster!" His voice had grown hoarse from fear, but Zhang Baichi did not answer; Only his sword moved once more.

The Broad Wisdom Sect's disciple's lower abdomen was pierced, and a tremendous amount of Qi rampaged through his body, destroying his cultivation from within.

Each strand of Qi felt as heavy as a mountain and easily ruptures his meridians and Dantian, ending his career as a cultivator once and for all.

He coughed, then started throwing up mouthful after mouthful of blood, his complexion turning more and more sickly with each cough.

"Kill me…! Please, just kill me!" His face was haggard and deathly white like a ghost, and he stared at Zhang Baichi with pleading eyes. He could not move his limbs, his cultivation was destroyed, and his spirit broken.

Zhang Baichi ripped the bloody rags that remained of his robe off of his body and stuffed them into his mouth, gagging him.

"You can talk later. For now, be good and quiet, and don't bite your tongue off, if you're even brave enough to try.", Zhang Baichi's tone was light, but the expression on his face was ice-cold.

He roughly grabbed the young man by his neck, and returned to the battlefield with a moderate pace.

A quick look around, and he noticed Yu Hao sitting on a nearby boulder, three more heads by his feet.

'Six dead bodies and another three heads. With this guy in my hands, that's all of them.', Zhang Baichi glanced around, then at the man in his hands, and lastly, to Yu Hao.

"You did well. That's all of them.", Zhang Baichi said.

Yu Hao raised his head and faced him, his expression calm, but just so slightly off. "I see…"

His eyes fell onto the man in Zhang Baichi's hands. "You left him alive?"

"Mh. We need some information from them, still.", Zhang Baichi nodded. "More importantly, are you okay? This was the first time you killed people, wasn't it?"

Yu Hao stared at him and unconsciously took a deep breath. Zhang Baichi was even younger than him, so how could he remain so calm in this situation. "…Yeah. I'll just need a few minutes to calm down."

His voice was somewhat heavy, and Zhang Baichi lightly nodded again. "Let's go back to camp. You can rest there as long as you need. I know this isn't easy."
