Chapter 109: Assassination

My Snake Charmer of a wife stepped forwards, handing me a small snake.

Taking it from her, she said "When you get the opportunity, let Paka know when you're going to start, and Kurenai and I will act after that. Keep the little guy in a pocket or something... it's cold outside..."

Stroking the small purple snakes head, I placed him in my vest pouch, where he snuggled up into a small coil and stared up at me, before I closed the pouch.

Giving them a nod, I watched as Anko and Kurenai flickered from the room, their movement silent as they moved to tail the Chunin and Genin outside.

Cameia followed behind me as I made my way outside of the Longhouse, and I asked "Could you find that Jiji woman's house?"

Nodding, she led me through the windy, snowy village, where we eventually arrived at a small, quaint cottage.

Remaining on the roof of a nearby building, I then asked "Where is the Jonin now?"

Since it was dark, I squinted towards the cottage, reminding myself that I needed to return to the Summoning World, specifically Mount Hane, and truly contract myself to a Hawk, bonding with one of them to grant myself some physical benefits, and to start pursuing ways to store and use Nature Energy.

I wanted to start small, but recalling the warm feeling of Nature Energy inside my body, I could only imagine how much of a boost it would provide me to have just a drop inside my Chakra Reserves.

"He's inside this villages equivalent of that tower back home. A few strong men and women are inside, but he outclasses all but one of them; his chakra is..."

The tall, muscular woman beside me pursed her lips, searching for the word; her golden eyes remained glued to the cottage, and she was otherwise motionless.

However, seeing that slight tremble in her lips made me both proud that I was finally noticing some changes in her expression, and it made my heart speed up slightly at how cute I found it.

Shaking that from my mind, I nodded when she said "Slippery. It is water, but it feels even more... fluid."

That meant that he was a damn good Ninjutsu user then; when someone managed to heighten their level of their chakra, it could... change slightly from the norm.

Everyone's was unique, sure, but one persons flames might be gentle, and another persons could be aggressive.

Small difference, one that was usually mitigated by Jutsu, but still...

However, even if the Jonin was damn good, I had an even stronger woman beside me, and I planned on striking when his guard was down, which...

Considering we are inside a very quiet village, it should be pretty easy to find that moment.

So, I had Cameia keep tracking them, as loosely as she could; I didn't need to know their exact position, but I wanted to know where they were at all times.

Which left us both sitting on that rooftop, cloaked in darkness and silent, the wind buffeting around us.

A thin layer of chakra kept the elements at bay, as well as preventing our clothes from ruffling the cloth and creating any noise.

I kept my senses strained in the noisy night, listening for anyone to be patrolling while also keeping my eyes peeled for any shapes moving abnormally inside the village.

Time slowly passed by, and like with most missions, it grew boring.

This wait was the prelude to the few high adrenaline, heart pounding moments when you're cutting someone's life short, and it was something many aspiring Shinobi never thought of when inside the Academy.

Most of our time was spent traveling and waiting, and a good few minutes of each mission would be filled with action; even then, that wasn't ideal.

You wanted as little action as possible; we weren't Samurai.

Our missions were of stealth and speed; we were to be in and out before anyone knew we were there.

Sighing slightly, I decided that I needed to start doing some kind of preparation for this with the girls; maybe not this year, but definitely soon.

They needed to be aware of this fact, and I needed to rein in some of the more jumpy ones...

With that in the back of my mind, I narrowed my eyes as I watched someone slip into the cottage before us, Cameia giving me a nod.

Glancing up, I saw that time had passed quicker than I thought, but not too fast.

The moon was still a good two thirds of the way through the sky, meaning...

Sighing again, I prayed that Jiji could bear with it for a while longer...

Falling back into a half meditative state, I eventually glanced at the moon again and decided that we were at a good enough time.

Reaching for my vest, I opened the pouch and nodded, letting Paka know that we were ready.

The small snake turned into a puff of smoke, returning to Ryuichi Caves and giving Anko the signal through his return to the Summon World.

Giving Cameia a nod, we both flickered forwards, into the cottage.

Moving towards the sounds of reluctant moaning, we slipped into the room to see a thin, pale man laying on top of Jiji, his face buried in her hair as he took her.

She was gritting her teeth as he slammed forwards, grunting as he reached his climax.

Shaking my head, I walked forwards, my footsteps completely silent as I drew my short sword.

Raising it above my head, I slashed down into the mans back, severing his spine.

He was about to let out an agonize scream when Cameia used her Darkness Chakra to bind his mouth, silencing him, as well as Jiji.

Pulling him from her, I stabbed my blade through his heart, grinning at him as the light left his eye.

Jiji was staring at me in horror, before her eyes widened as she recognized me.

Giving her a wink, I stored away the Jonin's body and nodded to Cameia, who released Jiji's binding.

As I flickered away, I heard her mutter "T-Thank... thank you, thank you..."

Reappearing outside, Cameia and I rushed towards the gate, where we were swiftly joined by Anko and Kurenai, before running out into the dark, snowy plains, no one besides Jiji knowing we were gone.
