Chapter 142: Meeting the Hawks

When dinner was over, I sent everyone home with a smile on my face, my heart warm as our various friends of the family made their way out of the compound and waved goodbye to each of us, especially the giggling Akari as she happily waved at her new friends, before she turned and hugged Kurenai closely.

As for Riku, she watched everything unfold before laying her head on my chest, her eyes drooping as she began to fall asleep.

Gently stroking her hair, I waved her small hand towards the departing people before making my way back inside, briefly stopping in the kitchen as I said "Sorry Mikoto, but..."

The kitchen was laden with dishes that needed to be done, and I smiled apologetically at her as I continued to hold Riku, the woman nodding as she said "Don't worry about it; this is my job, after all!"

Kurenai and the others joined us moments later, and Kurenai also apologized to the older Uzumaki woman, before she turned and said "Maybe Anko or Cameia will help you..?"

The two looked at one another before nodding, Anko reluctantly rolling up her sleeves as she moved forwards, while Cameia remained as silent as ever as she began to stack all the dishes and utensils together.

Leaving them to it, Kurenai and I made our way back to the bedroom, so that we could clean our daughters up and change them into something more comfortable before we all settled down and relaxed in bed.

Riku was already asleep, but Akari giggled as she 'fought' against Kurenai, forcing the raven haired woman to sigh as she had to battle to get Akari cleaned and into pajamas.

Smirking as I watched her troubles, I lounged on the bed as I idly stroked Riku's hair, earning myself a glare from her before she let out a triumphant 'Aha!', finally managing to 'beat' Akari.

When she was done, I leaned on her shoulder when she laid down beside me, both of us staring at the girls with love in our eyes.

Conversing quietly as the girls began to nap, we talked about the dinner we just had, which made me sit up, confusing Kurenai.

"Koko..?"

Glancing back at her, I gave her a smile as I said "Look after Riku for a moment; I want to see if I can get Meigetsu and let her meet Riku and the rest of the family."

Sighing, she looked down at the asleep Riku and yawning Akari, nodding as she said "Be quick about it... Riku might not do much on her own, but she... gets Akari going; seems Akari doesn't like being ignored."

I chuckled at that, before nodding as I glanced at the nodding off Akari, who was finally running on fumes from her hectic day.

"That she does~! Little people person that she is, the fact that Riku doesn't particularly care for interactions grates at her, and she really wants to get her attention..."

We shared an amused chuckle as we looked down at the two girls; Riku who was curled into a ball and fast asleep, and a sitting Akari who was nodding off, trying her best to remain awake.

"Alright, I'll try to make it quick."

Slipping from the room, I made my way outside and took a deep breath, realizing that this would be my first time using my chakra in quite awhile; it was advised to keep my chakra usage to a minimum so that I would avoid straining my body.

Closing my eyes, I made the familiar hand signs and entered the Summoning World, appearing on Mount Hane, standing before the large trunk that Asa, Shiba, Ren, and Meigetsu usually rested on.

Sensing my presence, the Hawks all turned towards me, the golden Asa and dark blue Mei-Mei hopping over to me.

Looking me over, Asa let out a relieved cry as she affectionately pat my head with her large wing, while Mei-Mei nuzzled against my arm.

"It was all successful, right~! How is it, being a mother now? Are you enjoying it?"

Looking at Asa, I nodded, a wide grin on my face as I said "It is indeed! I have a beautiful little girl now, named Riku Mitarashi. That's actually why I came here... I was wondering if you wanted to meet her and her half sister, Akari? Take a short trip back to my world and see them?"

Asa glanced over her shoulder, back towards the tilted head of Shiba, who shrugged with his wings as he said "Go on, nothings happening here. Ren and I can handle anything that happens."

With that, we returned to my world, the two Summoned Hawks needing a moment to orient themselves in the chakra-reduced environment before following me inside.

Of course, Asa was a little... scary, what with her standing at my height, so she used her jutsu's to shrink herself down to a much smaller size, reaching the middle of my calf.

Mei-Mei followed her example, and I let them both perch on my shoulders as I guided them through the house, eventually reaching the bedroom once more.

Entering, we were greeted with the sight of everyone lounging on the bed, all in partial states of undress.

Cameia was topless, a pair of loose pants covering her legs, while Anko wore a loose pair of shorts and a cropped top.

As for Kurenai, she was dressed in normal pajamas, and they all glanced at me and the two Hawks for a moment, before Anko muttered "Ah..."

Looking towards Cameia, Anko tossed a shirt towards the tall Priestess, who stared blankly at if, which made Asa laugh.

"Don't worry, that doesn't bother us~! Anyways, where's the two little ones~?"

Hopping from my shoulder to the bed, the golden Hawk looked around before finding an asleep Riku bundled in various blankets, looking more like an egg then a baby.

Laying beside her was Akari, who woke up instantly at the sight of the Hawks.

Reaching her hands forwards, Akari let out a cute 'Gah~' as she tried to grab Asa, who stared at her for a few moments before leaning forwards.

Sinking her fingers into the Hawk's feathers, Akari blinked at the softness, before she began to pet Asa, her lips pulled into a happy grin.

"This one is... Akari, right? She's a happy little thing~"

Mei-Mei jumped down beside her mother, staring at the baby before moving towards Riku, who was finally stirring.

Seeing that, Mei-Mei gave the girl some space as she rubbed at her eyes, before she too stared at the Hawk with wonder filled eyes.

Like her half sister, Riku tried to pet Mei-Mei, who seemed hesitant at first, before she nuzzled against the girls palm.

Watching that with a smile, I began to introduce them to the family, and they remained for as long as my chakra allowed, which sadly wasn't too long.

Akari began to cry as I lifted Asa and Meigetsu away, while Riku frowned, her amber eyes filled with sadness as she huddled into her blanket.

Smiling wryly at that, I briefly left the room before returning, lifting my daughter into my arms as I soothed her, whispering lovingly into her ear before lulling her to sleep, all while Anko and Kurenai needed to pamper the upset Akari.

Cameia nudged Riku's cheek as she began to fall asleep, her fingers providing the girl with a pillow, which she happily used as she drifted off, making me chuckle as I glanced back at Cameia.

With that, we all fell asleep in a pile, Riku and Akari huddled in the center, various pillows and blankets keeping them secure, while our bodies formed a wall to see them in.
