Special Case

I drove so fast that I was afraid that I would break the accelerator. But thank goodness the car held on tight.

I made it back within thirty minutes. It took twenty minutes to find a cab for Ryan. He was trying to shoo me away.

But I had to ensure he was alright before leaving him to it. He was refusing help, but he clearly needed some.

Ryan was partly sober. But he was slowly losing focus; his words became slurry. The effect of the wine came a little late.

But Jace better has something good, or I'm going to make him pay for the mad rush he put me into.

To save even more time, I took off the boots I was wearing and killed the engine the minute the car entered the garage safely.

I left everything behind, promising to return to it later after seeing what was so vital that he ate his pride and called me. It better not be a prank, or I swear I will ignore him for the entire week.
