Passion

I was almost glad that there had been no words spoken yet, because I couldn't think straight enough to form a coherent thought, even if I wanted to. His touch was electric, and I wanted it all over me.

I didn't even need to ask for permission when I kissed him, as his lips met mine in the middle. Was he going through the same thing I was? His kiss was so passionate, and tender. I almost instantly moaned against his lips, opening myself up to his tongue that desperately searched for mine.

I'd never gotten physical with a person before, and I hoped my lack of experience wasn't too noticeable. My hips received a tight squeeze from the Alpha, willing them closer to his. I could feel his length hardening beneath me through his pants, and I was eager to roll my hips against his. Slowly, but with enough pressure to make the both of us hiss out in pleasure.

"Adelaide," His husky voice called out my name next to my ear, causing my entire body to shudder. I wanted him. I needed him, all of him. I didn't care if this was the only chance we would get to do this, but it needed to happen or I might lose my mind.

With one quick motion, I found myself beneath him. His large frame had me pinned against the ground and himself, my legs wrapping around his hips without a second thought.

Kane's hips continued their slow, delectable motion against mine as his lips found my neck. I felt his hot, wet tongue drag itself up from my collarbone to the base of my ear, eliciting a moan that was a bit louder than I'd intended. This only seemed to push him further, as I felt his lips latch onto the patch of sensitive skin at the base of my neck.

He only stopped to remove my top, along with his. The articles of clothing were discarded without a second thought, and I couldn't care less about their location in the moment. I felt his hand take hold of my breast as he continued his work on my neck, and I quickly moved my hand to unbutton his pants. I was halfway done with pulling them down when I felt something sharp graze against my neck, and that is when I snapped out of it.

"Mate," The Alpha King growled at me after I'd pushed him off of me, confusion clear as day on his face.

"You tried to mark me!" I shrieked, a hand going over my neck as I sat up. I felt his teeth graze against the spot reserved for the mate mark, that sly dog! "You don't just do that to someone!"

"Come here," He commanded, which only pissed me off further. He gripped my wrist when my fist came flying towards him, and I bit my lower lip. I was in trouble now.

"You are my mate, Adelaide. Is it unreasonable to want to mark you?" He planted kisses down my wrist, as if wasn't talking like a crazy person!

"Are you out of your mind?! Do you know what people will say?" I was going to continue, but his lips effectively kept me quiet a little longer.

His hands were quick to touch and squeeze me in all the right places, and I felt him mounting me once more, as if we could just continue from where we had left off.

"Stop-!"

"I won't mark you, calm down." He cut me off, another kiss placed upon my lips as a bribe.

I wanted to argue, but at the same time, I didn't. If he promised not to mark me in this moment, then I would let us continue. After all, this would be the one and only time I would get to be this close to my mate. I planned to reject his offer and banish him from my Mt.Petra in the morning. It was for both of our sakes.

His hand slipped down to my skirt, hitching it up and teasing me with his thumb as his index finger slid into me, rendering me defenseless against anything he could do or say. This pleasure was unlike any other, and it was almost bittersweet knowing I'd never feel it again after tonight.

"Alpha," I moaned out as I felt his length press against my entrance. "Please," I was not one to beg, but this was a special occasion. I wanted so desperately to be his completely.

However as fate would have it, tonight would be remembered for a different reason entirely.

"Lady Adelaide! Lady Adelaide!"

I could hear screaming coming from outside. Shit! My pack likely assumed I was in my quarters, so that at least gave me a head start in retrieving my top.

We both scrambled to get dressed, the screaming causing our heart rates to escalate beyond belief.

"What is happening?!" I asked as soon as I was decent, shoving the curtain aside from the entrance.

"Crimson Moon Pack! Crimson Moon Pack is attacking!"

I felt lightheaded just at the mention of the pack, anger rushing to my head as I began to make my way down the mountain.

"My Lady! There are too many of them! Please, reconsider!"

I couldn't. I was on such an emotional high right now with everything that was happening, that I couldn't think logically. I didn't even wait to reach the base of the mountain before shifting, growling as loud as I could. Crimson Moon Pack would pay for what they'd done to my parents, and for whatever intentions they had for my people!

"Adelaide!" I heard Kane's voice calling out, but not even my mate could stop me now.

I ran past Tex, who I am sure had placed himself in a position to block me off from the front lines. He knew what Crimson Moon Pack meant to me, and what their presence would make me do. I didn't care, I was going to rip that bastard Alpha's throat right out!

Out of nowhere, I was almost knocked over by a wolf as black as a new moon's night. His speed was incredible, and I was sure he'd reach the frontlines before I would have a chance to.

As soon as I'd made it to the base of the mountain, I understood what everyone had meant. There were simply too many of them. This good for nothing had brought his entire army to my mountain in hopes of overwhelming me. Any sane leader would back down, and try to negotiate. Running into battle now, would only be assuring the slaughter of my people.

The black wolf was the first to shift back to his human form, and I was almost tempted to walk in front of him to shield his body from the eyes of my enemy. I crept up to his side and growled. Of course, I should've seen this coming. He wouldn't want to get mixed up in all of this, so he shifted to show he was on their side.

"Enough of this. You will return to your grounds, there is nothing here for you," His voice commanded respect, and it was immediately given. The wolves, though strong in numbers, looked towards each other nervously.

"Alpha King," There he was, Alpha Bane. I would've launched myself, but I knew better than that. "Can you please explain?"

"This is now Silent Crest territory. Any further action will be considered an act of war,"

Now both sides seemed to be murmuring to each other. Their soldiers, as well as mine, were equally as confused.

"Sire, there has been no announcement made. Word did not reach us about this acquisition."

"I was only just granted audience with Lady Adelaide, and we settled our terms earlier. What other reason would I have to be spending the night here?"

"Y-Yes, well.."

I growled, causing Alpha Bane's soldier's to immediately set their sights on me. I was still considered a threat, and I was glad. I didn't want these pests thinking I was hiding behind the Alpha King.

"Issue a retreat! There will be no battle today!" Kane had used his Alpha voice, causing even Bane himself to lower his head.

"If there is no word by the end of this week about your acquisition over Mount Petra, I will be back," I could tell it was a threat, though the pitiful Alpha was quick to run with his tail between his legs. It took a while before his troops were out of sight, and as soon as they were I pounced on Kane.

"What is the meaning of this?!" I shrieked, unable to hold in my anger. I had shifted back, my index finger poking into Kane's chest aggressively. "I never agreed to such a thing!"

"If I didn't say something, it would've been a bloodbath. We will talk about this tomorrow." I couldn't believe he was being so nonchalant about all of this!

"Your getting off my mountain tomorrow!"

"Your coming to my pack tomorrow, and we will revise the legal side of our alliance. If it makes you feel better, I will have soldier's standing guard at the base of the mountain during your absence."

"I don't want your soldier's on MY mountain!"

"They will not be on your mountain. They will camp out at the base of the mountain, and will not disturb the residents."

I clenched my jaw, glaring daggers at him before stomping past him. He was no one to give me orders, but I could not be unreasonable about this. Crimson Moon Pack has made their intentions very clear, and that was not something I could simply ignore.
