Chapter 14: How Beautiful He Tasted

He did not speak to me until we were out of sight and well out of ear shot. Stopping at a small clearing, he pulled me close to him in a hug that was at once comforting and confusing. My heart wanted to give into the touch of this man that I’d wanted to see again for so long. But I remembered that this man was also a wolf among the same wolves that attacked Hamstead and left no survivors.

He also had not unbound my wrists.

I felt his hand move up my back and to my hair. He tugged on it gently until my face tilted upwards to him. I read a burning desire deep inside of him and felt my entire body flush with excitement, even with my hands still tied behind my back and against my logical brain telling me he was more than dangerous.

His lips were on mine soft and searching. Nothing seemed dangerous about the kiss that, under any other circumstances, would have been long awaited and welcomed. He kissed me sweetly as I struggled to suppress my natural response.
