Chapter 32: Empty Answers

“Don’t move.”

Don’t move? How could I possibly not move when all I wanted to do was up and run? The hand remained tense on my shoulder, and then eased up. I slowly turned my head as it lifted off and the figure sat in the chair beside me.

“Tyler?” I whispered once I saw him, careful not to disturb those around me. “You’ve gotta be f*cking kidding me. Is it a habit to follow me daily now, or what?”

“For the millionth time, I’m not following you,” he said, rather annoyed. I huffed. Like he had any right to be annoyed with me—he was the one who lied to my face from the first day we met.

“I’ll believe that when you stop showing up at every place I go to.”

He turned and I caught the last half of his eye roll. “Seriously, Olivia. The coffee shop was an accident.”

“And this?” I asked, gesturing to the library.

Tyler looked around and then nodded. “Okay. This time I was. But for a good reason!”
