Planned Updates

First off, this is my first book, and I'm a complete amateur. I went into this book not really knowing what I was doing or where to start. However, as I started writing, I started to pick things up, and I began to notice some of the flaws in the story. Unfortunately, most of these realizations came after I'd already started publishing the book.

Basically, this book is my experimental book. You know... the best way to learn how to swim is to just jump in and figure it out... right? Anyway, this was intended to be my throwaway book - the thing that I'm ok with messing up. However, I grew really fond of the characters, and I'm beginning to feel that they deserve better.

However, this book is already completed & published, so I feel weird rewriting it. Plus, I'm currently working on "The Goddess of Silence", which is a much better book. So, here are a list of changes that I plan on making in the future, whenever I have time.

---- Updates Planned ----

Volume 1: Minor change at the end. (Haalfrin loses the duel against General Kaalhyme instead of winning.) Also, I will add a few more scenes at the beginning to familiarize the readers with the magic system better. We need to see Haalfrin experiment more with his magic, so the readers know what mages are capable of better.

Volume 2: Currently rewriting the entire volume. I feel like the whole arc lacked focus, and it was lackluster. Hence, I'm going to rewrite it to where Haalfrin works for Kaalhyme's people in defending their home against the Alastans. Also, I'm getting rid of Prince Talus and Prince Kanus. I felt they were a little cringe-worthy.

Volume 3: I love the prison arc the way it is, though I might scrap the Stancrock Island arc right after that. I feel like it may be redundant. I don't know yet.

Volume 4: Mostly unchanged. Maybe check for grammar.

Volume 5: My favorite Volume. This arc is the standard for how good I want the rest of my book to be. It's precisely what I've always wanted from Haalfrin's story. There is one minor change I'm going to make, though. I mentioned casually in this volume that something called a "Death Key" was made in the war. I only mentioned it before since it's canon that portals to the Realm of the Dead are created when a lot of people die in the same place. After mentioning the key was made, I just let it fade out of the story. However, I'm going to have to make this thing more important.

Volume 6: The beginning is perfect. However, the Lareen arc and everything after is going to be rewritten. The entire volume needs to be more focused, so the Mantling Ritual (the last struggle between Freyya, Das, and Haalfrin) is going to take almost the entire Volume, instead of just 20 chapters at the end.
