Bonus chapter: Uncomfortable Math and War Statistics

On average, a battle happened every day throughout the war, though there were periods of peace, and periods of more intense warring. Sometimes, a battle lasted for days at a time. Sometimes, multiple skirmishes happened in the same day.

On average, each battle would end with 12-30 Arkin dying, though the exact numbers are disputed among Haalfrin's war analysts. Each battle would, in turn, cost the Queen about 100,000 soldiers.

These numbers are only skewed so low because most conflicts were small skirmishes. The larger battles naturally ended with millions of Arkin and Ants perishing.

With the fact that the power ratio between Haalfrin and the Queen mostly staying the same throughout the entire war, it can be assumed that about 30 Arkins' mana is enough to equal the Death Aura from 100,000 Ants.

In other words, if the Queen were kill enough Ants to balance out with his Arkin's mana, she'd have to sacrifice roughly about 1.5 billion Ants for 500,000 Arkin. That means she'd have to have her entire army commit suicide 150 times.

Since Haalfrin wants the Queen to give him more Death Aura than he's giving her mana, he's obviously going to gouge the numbers with her a little bit; he's going to make her instead sacrifice her army 200 times instead of 150. It's better to get more Death Aura, yeah?

Now, the Queen is able to make all the necessary sacrifices in just about half an hour, since it DOES take a couple of seconds for her to get her army out after they've been slaughtered. The only constraining factor is the rate at which Haalfrin's Arkin can regenerate.

The Queen knows very well too that it takes a couple of hours… though a few can revive sooner, if they're greater Arkin.

With all of the experimenting the Queen does on Haalfrin over the years, she learns that his army comes back about every 2 hours or so.

That means she repeats her sacrificial ritual 12 times a day. That means she'll get 6 million Arkin's worth of mana every day, if she's diligent with her "job". Haalfrin, on the other hand, gets about 24 billion Ants' worth of Death Aura a day.

Every year, the Queen gets 2 billion Arkin's worth of mana, while Haalfrin gets almost 9 trillion Ants' worth of Aura.

The average planet on the World Tree has about 3 billion people living on them. That means that if you get around 3,000 planets and obliterate them every year, that's how much carnage is seen on the Ant Queen's sacrificial alters.

Needless to say, there has never been a time in the history of the universe where this many deaths had occurred. Never before has Death Aura been so abundant – not even in the foulest corner of the Death Realm.
