Bonus Chapter: Dragons and their Name Powers

All dragons are technically god candidates, since they have powers written in their Names. However, unlike with other races, all dragons have the same exact Name powers.

This is due to how the dragons were created.

Long ago, Drakavar and Drakawyn were the only two dragons in all creation. Drakawyn, the white dragon, was disgusted by the instincts built into his body to eat indulgently, sleep with all the women he can, and all other things he felt were "weaknesses".

In short, he hated the feeling of being controlled - even by his own body, so he secluded himself in a mountain for all of known history in favor of training his mind and cultivating innumerable skills.

To him, true strength comes from within the soul – not in dominating others.

Because of his life choices, everyone knows about Drakavar - entire histories were written about her life, and countless mythologies from disconnected cultures tell of her majesty and horror... yet there's almost no one in all the Worlds of Igdra that even know Drakawyn exists.

Thus, when talking about important events in history, Drakawyn can largely be ignored.

Drakavar, the black dragon, on the other hand… she feels that true strength comes from unleashing your "true self" – your instincts – upon the world. Her true mission in life is to be able to freely do whatever she wants – all while bending the world around her to suit her own wants and needs.

One of Drakavar's instincts drove her to have children. However, since she never felt that any man was mighty enough to attract her (besides the one man she could never force to marry her), she found other ways to create offspring.

What she did was she found young heroes from other races – people remarkable enough to at least warrant SOME respect from her. She then imparted a tiny sliver of her soul to them – transforming them completely into the first generation of dragons.

Because of the way these dragons were made, they all gained shadows of her own Name powers – hence, why all their Name powers are the same.

In order, these are the powers that come with each horn when they're grown:

---------------------

---------------------

1st Name – Strength:

Every dragon can absorb the strength (Dravar) of the things they eat. That power is an exhaustible fuel source that goes away once it's used. With this in mind, dragons will often gorge themselves on meat just before they go into battle. Every little bit of strength counts, after all.

---------------------

2nd Name – Ambition:

2 horned Dragons and above can maintain their youthful strength when they feel strong emotion, such as anger or desire. Dragons who lose the meaning in their life begin to feel old inside, and they find it difficult to move or think clearly.

In other words, dragons age and die like everyone else, but because of their 2nd Horn, they can theoretically live forever.

---------------------

3rd Name – Legacy:

3-Horned dragons and above leave their souls, as well as all the power they had in life behind in their bones when they die.

Thus, the bones of a dead dragon are valuable as an inexhaustible fuel source. Their spirits can also be summoned and consulted if enough power is poured into the bones, on the condition that all the bones are intact and together. No known force can break the bones of a dead dragon.

---------------------

4th Name – Seniority:

Dragon Kings and above constantly grow larger with age. Because with their greater size and their corresponding greater power, older Dragons in this realm of power gain more respect among their peers.

Essentially, when you get to the 4th horned dragons, being older makes them more powerful, and being more powerful places them higher up on the hierarchy.

---------------------

5th Name – Influence:

5-Horned dragons and above gain the ability to share their Dravar (power) with beings less mighty than they are. This ability to donate mana and strength to others, combined with their ability for their souls to persist in their bones, lets them revive their fallen brothers and sons.

Basically, with a dead dragon's soul lingering in his bones, a 5-horned dragon is able to spend mana to cloak his comrade in flesh once again, so long as the one doing the reviving is stronger to begin with.

Still, the less well known use of this ability is for a 5-horned dragon to delegate some of his power to a servant, so that the servant can go do his bidding for him.

---------------------

6th Name – Authority:

Elder dragons (6-horned dragons) and above can manifest their raw power outside their body, which they usually call their "Presence", though some cultures call it "Aura".

This Aura / Presence is mostly harmless; it's mostly used to instill feelings of fear and awe in the hearts of lesser creatures. However, there are times when their Aura can ignite on fire and physically destroy things around them when they get agitated.

The scary thing about destroying stuff with your Aura is that it uses no mana; it just requires the dragon to feel a certain way to activate.

Still, the primary use for Presence is to instill their Authority in the minds of lesser beings.

This way, without even having to fight, these dragons can establish their dominance over others and ensure compliance to the 5 laws of dragon-kind, which includes obedience to your seniors.

Because dragons have a natural authority over the Elements anyway, having their 6th Name basically makes them more powerful than most gods by default; the very world around them instinctually bows to these dragons and tries to fulfill their wishes.

---------------------

7th Name – Dominion:

7-horned dragons are called "True Dragons", since they don't have a single drop of non-dragon blood left in their bodies.

With the power of their 7th Horn, True Dragons can lay claim to vast stretches of land and space. In every sense, these territories belong to them.

Everything that sets foot in a 7-Horned Dragon's territory is completely subject to them; even the mightiest of gods are completely helpless before True Dragons here.

In a sense, besides Mora and Drakavar, True Dragons are the closest things to Gods with a capital "G", except they're only "Gods" in their designated territory.

Unfortunately, unless they constantly conquer more territory, then their hold over their vast power will slowly diminish.

Now, remember that the 7 dragon Names are shadows of Drakavar's Names. She has similar powers, but far greater.
