Bonus Chapter: Brief explanation on Death Realm plants

When Dakka was going to look for a way to feed the Ants, he found several cabinets enchanted with Space magic, so that they could hold a LOT of supplies.

In these cabinets, he found thousands and thousands of tons of unplanted seeds.

Of course, these seeds had to have been taken from the Death Realm; otherwise, any plant from the Living Realm would instantly wither and die under this extreme amount of Death Aura in the air.

The great thing about Death Plants is that they don't EVER have to be restocked; they can be reused over and over again. This is a huge blessing to the Arkin, since they're all mostly poor citizens in the Death Realm.

The reason for this is because the Death Realm plants, much like the Arkin, constantly regenerate. Even if they're eaten or destroyed, they'll slowly regrow to their original appearance.

For this reason, seeds from Death Realm plants are kept under special seals to prevent them from spontaneously growing again when they're not being used.

One might also ask, "If the Death Plants just regenerate, then why have so many spare seeds kept hidden in the Valor Hall?"

This is because Death Plants take hundreds of years to grow again, unlike the Arkin, who regenerate within an hour or two. In order to have enough food for every meal, every day, they have to rotate the crops out a lot.

Back to the Arkin being really poor and low class in the Death Realm, how were they able to afford so many tons of seeds to bring with them to the Hall of Valor?

Remember that plants have souls too, and the souls of every living being who dies is taken to the Death Realm.

Think about how many crops are killed – young seedlings butchered – just to feed one human in his lifetime.

If the Death Realm is already overpopulated from too many people dying, but no land being available, then think about how serious the overpopulation problem is for plants!

When you consider that the souls of crop plants are practically infinity, it suddenly becomes clear that fruits and vegetables are, by far, the cheapest thing in the Death Realm.

With the Supply of available crop souls available eternally rising, yet the number of room for people to live forever remaining the same, it becomes inevitable for crops to be the absolutely most WORTHLESS thing in all the Death Realm.

Heck, farmers are just giving seeds away for free in the Death Realm! Those cursed Reapers are always dumping more crops souls on them than they know what to do with!

With this in mind, the Arkin really had no trouble getting Death Plant seeds to take with them back to their war with the Ants.

Of course, there's one major reason why infinitely reviving Death Plants isn't used to solve famine problems in the Mortal Worlds.

Obviously, eating something from the Death Realm would kill almost anyone. Even someone powerful like a god would at least get sick, and mages would shorten their lifespans.

The reason why Haalfrin could eat these plants is clearly because he has Death Affinity; the Death Aura in the plants could never harm him.

As for the Queen and her Ants, she's proven to be almost just as Death Aura resistant as Haalfrin himself – all because her Ants and herself die so often, and have thus come to be immune to death's Aura.

Because of this, Dakka correctly assumes that the Ants can eat Death Plants.
