The God of Remaking (1/2)

"What do you want!?" the Queen shouts defensively up at the goddess. "And how are you able to stand up there!? I thought you were dead!"

"I'm a goddess with powerful spirit magic," Freyya smiles at the Queen's face. "People like me can do all sorts of things that are impossible for people like you."

Freyya then frowns. "Now, little girl, stop being rude and nicely head down to meet Felkawyn."

The Queen thinks for a moment, then realizes something. "You can't reap my soul until I head down there, huh?" She suddenly gets a cheeky grin. "Fine then. I won't ever go down."

Freyya sighs. "Little child… I'd normally have used my silver spear and beaten your Spirit into submission by now, then I'd have dragged your spirit down personally. However, I was trying to be nice to you because I feel sorry for you. Plus, all your other 'children' have been obedient so far."

"You mean…," the Queen mutters, "you mean that my other fragments have passed on?"

Freyya crosses her arms. "Yes. You're the only one among your many selves that is stubborn enough to resist death. Now, I'm giving you one last chance. Head down there. Now."

The Queen looks down to where she knows her fragments are. Then, her gaze darts between that and Dakka's face, which is appearing more heartbroken by the minute. 'Should I head down?'

As if sensing the Queen's conflicting thoughts, Freyya's eyes soften. "Don't worry. Everything will be fine. Out of everyone in the universe, Felkawyn is the only one who can heal your soul."

The goddess bends down and gently strokes the Queen's pale cheeks. "Didn't you always feel so much pain whenever you looked at the fake sun the Arkin made for you? Despite having the thing you always wanted, you still couldn't feel joy. Aren't you tired of always feeling so empty inside?"

Freyya can see the conflict arise in the Queen's eyes – rather, she can tell that the Ant Queen desperately wants to head down now, but she's still looking doubtful.

"What kind of being could heal my soul?" the Queen asks cautiously.

"Its Name is Felkawyn," Freyya explains. "Even the Death King doesn't know much about this God, but at least we know this; Felkawyn is the god of Transformation. It's what Transforms a living soul into a dead soul. However, it can do much more than that. It can also transform broken things into whole things. Tell me, what other kind of being could heal a broken soul?"

This is the last straw for the Queen. Without hesitation, she ducks under the water and dives downward – almost eagerly.

With the Queen gone, Freyya smiles again. "Das would be proud of me. I've never peacefully coaxed a soul before, but I was pretty good at it the first time."

---------------------

The moment the Queen's last fragment sinks beneath Felkawyn's white barrier, all of her fragments shriek in pain as they're all dissolved – ripped apart and reduced to their base particles…

…And for a spirit, their 'base particles' are large knots of golden spirit threads – all unraveling and stringing themselves out into impossibly long strands.

Felkawyn must have wanted to reduce their suffering, so the Felkin god makes sure to try destroying them almost instantly.

Then, the white Felkin transforms into its humanoid form – an androgynous person with a flat chest and white robes. On its back are 7, glistening, white wings.

'This soul is so messed up that I'll need to be a little more delicate this time,' Felkawyn thinks. 'Why else would I choose to wear a form with fingers?'

Felkawyn then traces its fingers along the entire length of the Queen's unraveled spirit. On one end, her spirit is completely golden, but as soon as the Felkin's fingers pass over a section, it turns into a mellow, silvery color.

Then, like a master weaver, Felkawyn starts sewing all of the countless shredded threads together, until it all becomes one spirit.

With the Queen's spirit mended, Felkawyn uses this spiritual connection to reach into Fina's soul. "Here comes the tricky part."

---------------------

Restoring the soul is always more tricky for Felkawyn than anything else. After all, Felkawyn is the god of Transformation, and Transformation is the art of Destroying something, then putting it back together as something else.

In other words, you could say that this white Felkin is the god of 'Remaking', and 'remaking' requires something to be destroyed first.

With this in mind, Felkawyn knows that it'll have to destroy Fina's soul before it can put it back together again – this time as a complete, untarnished soul.

'Since souls and Soul Realms are hidden inside the Void – Kala's territory, then the moment I destroy this child's soul, she'll be exposed to that faceless monster again, and her soul fragments will be snatched away in the blink of an eye.'

Realizing this problem, Felkawyn carefully manipulates its own soul. This doesn't require it to remake its own soul because of how special it is.

Unlike other gods, Felkawyn has all soul Traits that could possibly exist stored away in its soul Realm's libraries.

(Why would something so ridiculous be kept in its soul? When Mora – the god of creation – made Felkawyn, he essentially gave it the ability to copy things from its own soul and use this to remake the things around it.)

(A/N: Basically, a Word Document is in Felkawyn's soul with every Soul Trait that could ever exist written on it. Felkawyn is able to remake things into different shapes by 'ctrl+c, ctrl+v' from its soul onto the things around it.)

Since a soul's position in the Void is determined by its Traits – by what it is, then that means that this Felkin god is easily able to move its soul around in this place, since it has every soul Trait recorded on its soul.

With Felkawyn being arguably the most mobile soul, it easily finds Fina's Soul Realm, which appears to be a tattered grey dot floating in endless dark space from an outsider's point of view.

Ever so slowly, a giant, blazing white ball dwarfing the grey dot comes closer and closer… until…

'*Diiiiiing…*' comes an echoing chime akin to a small bell. "Ah," Felkawyn says to itself. "That's the sound of soul Realms bumping into each other. That means I found her."

---------------------

With her body and spirit being destroyed, Fina's consciousness has nowhere to go but her Soul Realm… and it's because she's in this private place that she sees something few have ever seen before.

At first, the Queen is waiting in her Soul Realm patiently. She then feels an ominous quaking in the ground, and she sees her sky rippling.

Seeing her sky… move… like a sheet of paper being disturbed, the Queen understandably starts screaming in fear. The trauma of the Featureless one snatching her soul away is still so fresh that she can't help but remember.

So far, everything feels the same as the last time a larger soul came to find her, and that's what woke up her trauma.

However, unlike last time, her soul isn't bled of color, and a creepy stranger doesn't waltz into her Soul Realm.

Instead, her Realm's sky explodes in blinding white light. It's as if a thousand stars detonated right before her.

Once the light fades away, the Queen lays there on the ground in shock with her arms crossed over her eyes.

After a few seconds, the Queen thinks, '…But I feel alive…? Is everything all right?'

She allows herself a few moments to at least adjust her mind and convince herself that she's safe enough to look. (After all, it was looking into the Abyss that allowed the monster to find her in the first place.)

When she opens her eyes, she doesn't get the feeling that she's in a Soul Realm, but a universe in and of itself.

All around her are gargantuan towers stretching infinitely below her and infinitely above her. The only thing obscuring these towers are clouds of faintly glowing, white mist that only seem to get thicker the further you look.

Of course, the towers are far too big for her to make out any details – similar to how it's hard to see what exactly is on the surface of a planet when looking at it from space. The only thing she can see is the general texture, which is silvery and seems to be built in layers - as if countless towers were built on top of each other.

Feeling strange and confused, the Queen shoots to her feet and runs to the side of her Soul Realm, and she's surprised that her Realm's barrier is still there.

Even still, she presses her face against the outer barrier, and she sees that her Soul Realm is suspended in mid-air, like a floating island… or like those floating fortresses that she's ever so familiar with.

The Queen doesn't have to wait long before she realizes that she's not alone.

At first, the Queen feels a presence in the air that's so powerful, she can't help but feel a sense of reverence in her heart.

Looking up, the Queen sees a large silhouette form in the endless mist. As the shape gets larger and larger, the Queen notices two blazing bronze eyes getting larger.

"EEEEK!" the Queen shrieks in fear. The faceless creature had bronze eyes too. "G-get away from me!"

"Oh, you unfortunate child…" a soft voice whispers in her mind.

Without another word, a white phoenix emerges from the mist. Its wings are so wide that it has to tuck them in whenever it passes between two of the infinitely far apart towers.

Looking at its glistening white feathers and the rainbow-colored energy reflecting off of them, the Queen can't help but feel like this thing is holy. Out of instinct, she bows her head.

The phoenix brings its head closer to the girl's floating Soul Realm, and it turns its head to the side – facing one eye directly in front of the Queen. Just its eye alone is occupying the Queen's entire vision on one side, like a wall that extends forever.

"Hmm…," the voice says again in the Queen's mind. "Well, child. Do you have anything to say?"
