The Day of Wrath (4/4)

When Drakavar sees all the armies around her scattering in every direction, she immediately morphs back into her human form. Sure, chasing after them in her dragon form would be a lot easier, but her instincts are telling her that she'll just be a huge target if she makes herself that big.

Without her Soul Stone, she's mostly unable to defend herself with magic, and she's only able to rely on her body's innate durability.

Even still, with all the gods and material she's devoured so far, she has gathered up a "little bit" of mana to splurge. That "little bit" of mana would be more efficiently used in her humanoid, half-dragon form.

After she shrinks down again, the Dragoness holds out her hands, and large pockets of matter all around are crushed together so densely that they ignite into stars, which are further crushed into neutron stars, then are finally crushed into their final forms – black holes.

In the eyes of the onlooking army down below, it doesn't look like the Archdemon is holding black holes in her hands; rather, it looks like she's holding miniscule balls of fire that are thousands of times brighter than the brightest sun.

After all, these black holes are sucking in the surrounding air so violently the air ignites all around it and burns hotter than a nuclear explosion.

The wrathful Goddess slowly makes a flicking motion, and hundreds of thousands of little black holes are shot across the battlefield.

Many gods try erecting mana shields, time distortion fields, spatial barriers, time locked barricades… They try everything, but none of it works.

Any physical barriers and mana shields– no matter how sturdy – just adds more fuel to the black holes, and the material around the black bullets only explode with more Force.

As for the time distortion fields and spatial barriers…, they're completely useless, since black holes bend the space around them with more force than anything a god can reproduce. Even if a god were to completely cut off the space around him, the black hole bullets would just punch straight through and kill them anyway.

And so, the flying black holes pierce straight through the fleeing armies. Due to Drakavar firing her shots at an angle, the bullets dig straight into the ground with no resistance. In a straight line, they fly deeper and deeper into the ground, until they reach the bottom of the endless planes and emerge on the other side.

It seems that the Realm of the World Tree is floating above a black void, like a flat island floating in space. So, when Drakavar's bullets emerge at the bottom of the world, they fly straight into the bottomless Void and disappear forever.

General Haalfrin watches grimly as a burning stench assaults his nose.

All around him are pockets of pure devastation, where valiant soldiers, giants, and gods used to be.

-The Present-

Das had been using the Spiritual Link between himself and Freyya to spy on her this whole time; that's the main reason why he was able to sense her gaze.

It's through this link that Das saw Freyya crush the moon down and eat it whole.

Seeing his junior Reaper do this, the old Death god genuinely freaks out; destruction of that magnitude is something that only a 7-Horned dragon is capable of!

'Freyya and I are supposed to be simple death reapers. We have 1 simple job! A death reaper's divinity is supposed to be for carting souls around – not messing with the landscape! 7-Horned dragons, though….'

'What did she do? I mean, how did she do it?' Das wonders in fear.

Das then watches some more, and he starts to realize who Freyya is resembling at this moment.

"Elshirothe!" Das exclaims in alarm. He then yanks Haalfrin's sleeves and points in Freyya's direction, "We need to get out of here and warn the Death King!"

Haalfrin frowns and replies, "No. YOU can go warn the Death King. I'll hold her off."

"NOW'S NOT THE TIME!" Das yells in Haalfrin's ear. "Look and see for yourself!"

Das then touches a hand on Haalfrin's forehead, and images flashes through the mortal's mind – images of Freyya.

Right now, Freyya's entire body is starting to glow white-hot, and dark cracks are spreading throughout her skin, as if her body were a porcelain doll that's on the verge of shattering.

'There's no way her body can last at this rate…,' Haalfrin realizes glumly. 'Mantling ritual be d#mned. I have to stop my wife before she destroys herself.'

All of his effort to die in battle would be completely devoid of meaning if he were to lose his wife in the process!

-The Far Future-

Drakavar looks on as all the portions of the army she just obliterated come back to life (courtesy of General Haalfrin). Seeing her work be undone, the Demonic Dragon snarls in frustration.

Being too far gone to think of anything else to do, the Dragoness pelts the army again and again with black hole bombs, but nothing seems to be working.

Feeling frustrated and out of options, the Elder Goddess suddenly gets the idea to just grow bigger again and swallow all the plains at once. Wouldn't her problem be over if she just ate everyone?

Unfortunately for her, the mad Goddess seems to have forgotten the reason why she shrunk down in the first place.

Even though her body can't handle growing larger again, she does it anyway.

As the Dragon Goddess's body starts to expand, she grows back to her size when she destroyed Igdris…

Drakavar looks around her and sees the endless plains stretching out into the distance. With this being Yiirkawyn's Soul Realm, the edge of these plains are infinitely far away.

'So, that just means that I'll have to be infinitely large in order to eat the whole universe at once?' Drakavar briefly thinks. 'Sure, I can do that.'

With this mad thought in mind, the dragon starts to expand her body more and more.

As her body is stretching past her limits, the Archdemon starts to feel an aching in her chest, where her soul stone used to be. After all, she's unable to assume an infinite size without her Soul Stone to support her body.

If Drakavar had been sane, then she'd have stopped right there. However, she's so blinded by her burning wrath that she ignores the pain.

She pushes her body so far that her chest suddenly rips open, and her heart blood starts bleeding on the ground – washing the entire battlefield in a red tide.

It's only when she nearly loses consciousness that the mad Goddess stops growing.

General Haalfrin sees this, and he thinks, 'There's no way her body can last at this rate… All right. I know what we need to do.'

-The Present-

Haalfrin doesn't have time to ponder Freyya's injuries any further, since Freyya flicks her wings once, and she tears through space in his direction.

The general braces himself for impact, but he's surprised when he feels nothing. It seems that Freyya had jumped towards him so quickly that she couldn't aim properly. This made her overshoot him completely.

However, despite missing her target, a wave of heat follows in her wake. The pulse of heat is so dense that Haalfrin and Das barely manage to keep their lives… and that's only because Das had already turned into a Reaper again and then bore the brunt of the damage.

The force of the wave then sends Haalfrin and Das tumbling into space, and they both get separated from each other.

Freyya almost immediately realizes that she overshot her targets, so she stops herself, turns around, then leaps again.

Maybe it's because Freyya hates Das more, but she instinctually goes for Das first.

…This time, Freyya isn't so careless in her approach. Just as she jumps toward the old Reaper, she slows herself down enough for her to adjust her aim.

Das swings his quarterstaff at Freyya's heart, where the black scale is lodged in her skin. He's hoping to knock the scale away and take away her boost of power.

However, Freyya moves too fast for his strike to land. Her hand shoots forward with explosive force, and the sharpened tips of her fingers plunges into his heart. In the same motion, her other hand swings forward, grabs Das by the throat, and squeezes so hard that his head is ripped from his body.
