Alchemy

Understanding the possibility of his low talent Yong decided to ask his father for permission to leave the house and go to the clan's library to learn more about alchemy and to get him a tutor to train him in martial arts and footwork.

As he was walking inside the hallways towards his father study he met his older brother who just looked at him before continuing towards his destination.

'It seems he really grew to resent me'

After Yong started read books from the small library the servant started talking about how the second young master is a genius and might even be better than his brother, Long Jianyu had heard this and his resentment grew, but he didn't outright his brother though it's like he loved his either.

'He doesn't outright hate me but as we grow older he'll start to feel more threatened by me, i really need to join a sect and leave here!'

Yong arrived in front of the study and entered after receiving permission.

"Father, i would like to get permission to visit the clan's library and a tutor to teach me martial arts."

Long Chen frowned and said "Hmm... Yong i'll arrange for a servant to accompany you to the library as you're still young to go alone, but i will not get you a tutor."

Yong was shocked he didn't know why his father wouldn't let him learn martial arts "why father" Yong said while trying to stop his voice from shaking.

"It would be unfair to your brother, you'll have to wait until next year when your five so you can start at the same time."with that said Long Chen didn't let any room for negotiation or pleading.

'Is he scared for brother's position as I've shown much more smarts and potential? Damn i'm not even trying to take my brothers position!' Yong sighed to hold down his frustration and bid farewell to his father before leaving.

The next one of the servants named wang took Yong to the clan's library, it was the first time Yong left his house and was quite shocked to see children playing around with parents watching over them.

'it seems that they're the normal people who are not direct descendant of the patriarch or the five elders.'

No one recognized Yong as he passed by which was quite good as he didn't want people to know and see him entering the clan's library as it will start rumors again of him being a genius which will only push him away from his brother more.

At the center of the compound beside the patriarch house was library, it was pretty common brick building painted white and had two floors.

Yong entered the library accompanied by wang he went to the librarian which was and old man with white hair and goatee.

"Hello Senior do you know where i can find some books on alchemy?"

"Aren't pretty young to come in here Boy?" Asked the old man with a tired voice.

"Ah well my father gave me permission."

"Your father?"

"Yes, he's the second elder Long Chen"

the librarian was quite shocked that he's the son of the second elder most likely to become the patriarch, he couldn't afford to be negligent and directly showed him the books he required.

"Young master, you'll find books about alchemy in the third row on the first floor and on the fifth in the second floor, but please remember you cannot take books outside of the library!"

"All right, thank you senior!" Yong said before leaving to find the books.

As he got the books Yong thought about his need of alchemy 'Not only can it help my cultivation and probably increase my talent if i reach a high enough level, it is also very profitable!'

Yong had considered a lot of things during these last few days after he found out his father and brothers middling(probably trash?) talent, he decided to prepare to pursue Alchemy.

To start training Alchemy first of all he had to memorize a lot of herbs and their effect and study on some of their interaction. Although his clan's herb compendium wasn't complete if he memorized all, it would help him a lot if he managed to join a sect.

Not only that he started to read textbooks on human anatomy especially on meridian and acupoints which will be a great help towards both alchemy and cultivation.

During the first three months he managed to learn a lot and discovered that his memory and information retention had increased compared to his previous life which was already high, with this his memorization and understanding was growing smoothly.

His brother had managed to reach the first level of Qi condensation and was smug about it going out and bragging to his friends(lackeys) and this made Yong look at him weirdly.

'What the hell? is he a typical Young master in the making?'

Nothing changed to Yong's daily life as he still visited the library, but today it's about to change as it is his fifth birthday and it's time for him to finally get a tutor.
