Alchemist in training

Long Yong started cultivating for the next week while going to his lessons and never forgetting to visit the library.

He already learned about some runes he can use on some formation plates or inscribe them on a talisman. Of course he didn't forget to cultivate his spiritual energy grew more and was able to open two other meridians, which sped up the speed of refining spiritual energy.

Long Yong has finished memorizing the rest of the herbs and was ready to take the exam in the alchemy hall, so he woke up and took a bath to refresh himself before heading out.

The Alchemy hall is a spacious building as it needs multiple rooms for alchemists to refine their pills, it also has a dense herbal aroma.

He entered the hall and went directly to young looking clerk.

"Hello Senior, I'm Long Yong and i would like to take the exam to become an Alchemist in training."

The clerk looked at this young boy and was quite surprised after all it's not every day you get a six year old ask to take a memorization heavy test, but he kept his expression schooled as he was a professional.

"All right, fill up this form and wait here, it will probably take an hour for an alchemist to come."

"Thank you senior, will the test be written or oral?"

"Well normally after the basic lessons are finished those disciples will take a written exam, but as you're alone an Alchemist will come and orally test you!"

Long Yong was satisfied as it will be faster than a written exam, he then went to the waiting room, as he was going to wait for an hour he started cultivating.

An hour and a half passed while Long Yong was cultivating, he opened his eyes in front of him an old looking man was waiting in front of him.

The old man smiled and said, "Hello, i'm the one who will be testing you, I'm alchemist Bai Qiu."

Long Yong was surprised and quickly apologized, "I'm sorry senior for letting you wait, I was in deep meditation."

"It's no worry, it's good that you're hardworking, if you keep like this you'll have a bright future! Now follow me so we can start the test."

Long Yong followed Alchemist Bai Qiu to a room, he sat down and motioned to Long Yong to sit down in front of him.

"I'll be testing your knowledge of herbs, i'll be asking you to name some herbs,their effect and some combination results."

Long Yong nodded and started answering the Alchemist, the question were all about the herbs he studied in the compendium so with his good memory and effort he was able to easily answer.

Bai Qiu was surprised and happy for a good seedling,"Good, you memorized well, we can consider this test passed, so we'll inform the clerk so he will register you and give you your Alchemist in training badge."

"Thank you Senior! Can i ask you a question?"

"Of course!"

"Senior where will i be learning more advanced knowledge?"

"Well with your badge you will be able to enter the first floor of the alchemist hall's library, there you will be able to find books about alchemy from herbs to fire controlling techniques and some basic recipes."

Long Yong was enlightened and followed the old man to the clerk and registering himself and getting the badge.

Long Yong decided to check the library out and find some flame controlling techniques. They were some and he found out about the requirements, there were about controlling existing flames and alluded to higher level techniques where the cultivator creates the flames, but they all have a great threshold about spiritual energy control.

This control can be useful in many areas, it can be used to waste less of your reserves when you cast a spell or use a technique and it can also make the cultivator's spiritual energy easier to bend and control.

The True Mystic technique also grants a higher level of spiritual energy malleability because it is for a technique for those who specialize in using spiritual spells and curses.

Long Yong had an idea of training his flame control techniques to increase his control of spiritual energy which will help his greatly in cultivation, either in casting spells or Alchemy.

As he was satisfied he left the Alchemy hall and wanted to discover a bit more about the sect, so on his way home he decided to take another route.

On this route Long Yong managed to find the Array Hall, maybe in some time he will finish learning runes and become a trainee in this hall too, Long Yong continued on his path only to find another hall which was names the training hall, this confudes him and couldn't help but ask one of the disciples around.

"Hello senior brother, can you tell me what is this hall for?"

The young man turned to see a boy talking to him, but quickly noticed the blue outfit of the outer sect and said, "Junior brother, this is the training hall where we can train and battle puppets, there are many puppets that correspond to different levels of cultivation."

Long Yong was surprised as he thought that those who wanted to train had to get out of the sect and fight demonic beast, but this was expected of the number one sect in the region, they are more advanced than other.

"Thank you senior brother for your answers."Long Yong cupped his hands and thanked the young man before leaving.

'Maybe when i learn some spells i can come here to get use to combat, after all it will be embarrassing if i didn't know how to use my abilities in a fight!'
