"You finally started caring about me."

The reason she was happy was because her mood had suddenly lifted on learning that Ethan Ainsley wasn't going home to meet a potential spouse. Her happiness was genuine, and she couldn't help but feel a small triumph in her heart.

But she couldn't let it show.

Not until Frankie Foster asked her earlier, and she answered him, the happiness in her heart lit up her face as she spoke.

And Ethan Ainsley noticed!

She slowly moved her gaze back, "I'm happy because I need to make money."

Frankie Foster responded incredulously: "But Lola, you're making money every day. What's weird is that you didn't seem happy these last two days. I didn't know how to ask you about it."

Lola Hussey: "..."

Why would you ask me now...?

Warmth spread from the back of her hand. Lola Hussey looked down to find a big, warm hand on the back of hers, slowly tightening its grip.

She glanced sideways to see him leaning towards her, "It's my mistake that I didn't inform you before leaving North City."
