Scared her silly
Recently, her identity had become too conspicuous, so someone plotted to kidnap her and make a fortune through her.
Suddenly, Lola's eyes lit up.
That's right! The watch!
She still had the watch she had bought from Fitzroy!
She reached for it, only to realize to her dismay!
She was still wearing a patient gown!
That meant she had no means of contacting the outside world.
"Sigh…" she sighed. It made sense - even if she had any devices on her, they would have been thoroughly searched and confiscated.
She decided to just sit and wait.
As she waited, she started to feel drowsy and eventually fell asleep.
When she woke up again, it was hunger that had roused her.
She had expected the days of waiting for rescue to be excruciating, without food or drink and no idea how long it would take for help to arrive. Yet, to her surprise, there was already food in her room, the delicious aroma wafting in the air.
Lola got up and sat at the table.
