She comforted Sophia and then spoke to Hiram, "Stop teasing now, bro. She's already had a rough night."

"Foreign mutt?" Hiram seemed amused, and his expression softened a bit, "Interesting name."

The next second, Hiram asked Sophia, "So, is there a local dog in your family too? Is it yellow or black or multicolored?"

Hiram looked at Sophia's finger pointing to his sister, then at his sister.

Hiram's sharp gaze turned back to Sophia.

That fierce look clearly meant: Dare to call my sister a local dog?

Sophia was frightened by that gaze and shook her head vigorously, "She's not a local dog, I'm a local dog, I am."

The Bailey family is just so overbearing.
