"Lola, you can't go back on your word." He reminded her again.
Lola Hussey nodded solemnly, "Yes, I can't go back on my word. After all, you also said that lying would result in a lightning strike. If I were struck by lightning, you wouldn't have a wife, right? So in order for you to always have a wife, I won't casually lie."
Ethan Ainsley smiled and said a word Lola didn't understand.
He said, "Worth it."
Lola asked, "What's worth it?"
He said: "Appreciating you, courting you, guarding you, waiting for you, wanting you, it's all worth it."
Lola pouted, "But you always bully me."
"When I bully you, it means I love you," he tried to imbue her with this twisted logic.
Upon hearing this, Lola's cheekbones puffed up, her expressions looking so petulant that it seemed she was about to explode: "Do you think that just because I'm young and no match for you, I'll believe whatever you tell me? You think you can easily deceive me?"
Ethan chuckled, "So this is what you think?"
