"You're clearly bullying me!"
Lola Hussey didn't want to admit that she was overthinking things. It was hard not to misinterpret the way Ethan Ainsley had just treated her, but she was too proud to back down, so she argued with him.
"Is this bullying you?"
He smiled slightly, gently gripping her chin with his hand.
That smile seemed to be full of ill intentions.
Lola already felt the danger, knowing that she was no match for him, so she simply surrendered, "Then... I'll sing for you when we get home tonight. You can choose any tune you want."
These placating words spilled out without any thought.
Little did she know that trouble often starts from careless words.
Upon hearing her statement, Ethan's pupils deepened in color, and his voice became even more low and tense, "Is that what you said?"
Lola looked at his hungry expression, as if he couldn't wait to eat her up, and swallowed hard, regretting her previous words.
