"No." He replied.
Simple and straightforward.
But this answer was too simple for Lola Hussey. She thought Ethan Ainsley would say something heartwarming.
On second thought, she felt ungrateful.
He had been so, so good to her. What was she thinking? Realistically, this should be considered "overreacting."
She continued to eat the fruit.
As she ate a blueberry, she remembered what Aiden Carter said and changed the topic from the unpleasant one. She asked Ethan, "Ethan Ainsley, do you like children?"
Ethan grinned, "Aren't you a child? My child."
If only she could kiss Mr. Ainsley's sweet-talking lips.
She grinned, "I'm talking about little children. Do you like them?"
Ethan turned the question back to her, "Do you?"
"I wouldn't say I particularly like them, but I don't dislike them either."
"Hmm, same here." He responded.
Aiden said that Ethan didn't like children, but Lola remembered a conversation she had with Ethan where he didn't show that at all.
