The Blazing Fire

"Don't play with fire, Ignacio." A woman yelled at a red-haired youngster who was playing with the fire torch. Unknowingly raising the flame, Ignacio's hands could freely move around the fire without getting burned. Concerned, his mother rushed over to him and snatched the fire torch away from him. She looked at his hands and was startled to see no signs of burns; he had not been harmed by the raging fire.

"I haven't been scorched by fire, Mother; they listen to me." He declared while raising his hands that all of the fire torches had been put out with a wave. His mother was alarmed by the darkness that enveloped the hallway. Ignacio waved his palm once again, and the flames burnt and blazed once more. He could see his mother's terrified countenance. His mother lowered herself hesitantly to Ignacio's level. She breathed deeply as she held his shoulders. "Mother, what's wrong?"

"Can you make any promises to me?"

"Anything."

"Whatever you did with the fire, never do that again, at least not in front of anyone besides me,"

"But-"

"You promised." Ignacio's mother gave him a huge embrace as he reluctantly nodded.

Ignacio had a strong will. Even though he adored his mother, he was unable to ignore the call of the fire. He couldn't help but be lured to the roar of fire. Due to the fact that he was raised in a castle, he has always felt bound by the laws of the realm, which are what taught him how to be a prince. He had no idea, though, that the king had discovered him while on a jungle expedition because of the fire he was born with and was destined to wield as an elemental. Because the king and queen were childless, they lavished their affection on Ignacio, viewing him as a divine gift.

Ignacio would sneak out of the castle at night and disappear into the woods, where he was discovered. The gentle murmurs he heard in his nightmares were dreams of burning but not being burned. The dreams took place in the same location where he had been lurking about but had come up empty-handed. Why does he keep coming here? Why is he drawn to this location? He often questioned and came looking for a solution, only to go empty-handed. He couldn't recall anything because he was born as a human, and that will have to be worked out when the correct moment comes. Ignacio slept under the tree in the forest once more. He fell asleep in the jungle since it never scared him.

The sun was already up when he awoke the next morning, and sunlight was filtering through the gaps between the tree canopy. He cursed under his breath, knowing that his mother would turn the entire castle upside down. He proceeded swiftly in the direction of the castle, getting lifts from citizens to get there before any trouble. Because the castle was not far away from the woods, so he arrived not late, but after breakfast. He sighed in annoyance at the deafening cries. He knew he needed to provide a plausible cause to brush aside this matter.

"Mother, why are you-?" He started as soon as he stormed into the hallway. He was taken aback to notice an unfamiliar presence as his attention moved along the hallway. And his father was consoling his mother, who was sitting in a chair. As soon as she saw Ignacio, his mother escaped the king's hold and gave him a grizzly embrace. "What is happening?"

"You wouldn't want to leave us, right?" After their embrace, she asked him. Ignacio seems bewildered and astonished by the sudden question.

Every single eye in the hall was fixed on the bewildered Ignacio, and the air in the room was dense. The unidentified individual introduced himself as a sage sent by the gods. Even the king could not dispute the fact that these things were regarded seriously at the time. But Ignacio sensed something strong and familiar emanating from him, and that alarmed him as well. "Your son was created to change the world."

What he meant by that What change is he talking about? Ignacio wondered. Everything the sage said sounded like gibberish to him. "He is not your son."

The queen's eyes widened in terror at what the sage stated, and she turned to look at Ignacio, who had been zoning off for a moment. The individuals he called his parents over the years were not his parents, and the castle he called home was never actually his. His head was continually fogged by these ideas. "He was created to serve the functions for which he was sent into this planet. He is being beckoned by the dreams he is having. He is being called by the power of the elements, which needs a master. Keep him going."

"Enough already, I don't want to hear anything further." Ignacio yelled, lowering his eyes. He was afraid that if he glanced at his parents, the unfamiliarity might overwhelm him. Ignacio walked away before his mother could stop him as she tried to reach him. He didn't look ahead as he dashed towards his chamber. He was upset at his parents and didn't want to think about them just now. Was he not their son? who was screaming out for him, what the meaning of the elements' power was, and more. The startling revelation and the fact that his parents didn't object to it overwhelmed him, yet he was unable to resist the pull.

Days passed while Ignacio kept himself confined to his room, but the queen was always concerned about his health and delivered meals for him through one of the servants. Ignacio had frequent dreams about the burning forests, but he restrained his desire to visit them and remained in his room all night. The queen was worried about him; she gave him the space he needed, but she couldn't stop herself from knocking on Ignacio's door. "Please come in." From within, a broken voice was heard. The Queen inhaled deeply before opening the door. Ignacio had his back to her while seated at the edge of the bed.

No one spoke for a split second, and everything was silence. Ignacio replied, breaking the tense, "You know, I've always sensed the pull the Sage spoke of, but I've never discovered anything. To get the answers, I used to sneak away and go to the woods. But I had no idea that I would find the answers in this castle. Mother, did you know that? I'm terribly sorry, queen." He somberly laughed.

"I'm your mother, Ignacio."

"I don't know. Are you?" As he spoke, he turned to face her.

The queen moved a short distance and sat down on the opposite side of the bed; her eyes concentrated on the creases in the bed cover. " The king and I were married for ten years, but I was unable to have children." she explained as she smoothed out the wrinkles in the blankets. " I advised the king to wed a different woman, but he objected, saying that he loved me too much to do that". That made Ignacio grinned. "After the battle, the king came to survey the freshly captured area, and that's when he found you laying beneath the tree amongst the shrubs." "I was thrilled when your father accepted you as a gift from the gods." Ignacio, who was paying close attention to her, caught her eye. We adopted you and gave you the name Ignacio, which means fire, because your red hair and fiery eyes captivated us. "We were mistaken in thinking that this would never be revealed." She held Ignacio's face in her hands as tears rolled down their cheeks. She dabbed Ignacio's tears away. "I'm unsure of the sage's meaning regarding elemental power, but all I know is that you are my son; I raised you and gave you a name, and nothing can change that."

"I'm sorry to interrupt Your Majesty." With a terrified expression, the guard stormed the space. "The woods are on fire." Ignacio and his mother abruptly stood up as fear began to seep through their veins. They proceeded swiftly in the direction of the courtroom where they discovered practically everyone assembled and getting ready to leave for the woods. The king gave the order to build a waterway and open the dams so that water might flow into the land that was burning. In response, the advisor said that opening dams would harm many people's livelihoods and crops.

The king replied, "If we wouldn't open the dams, the whole nation would burn to crisps." "Get the people out of the area near the dam; we'll give them with shelter, food, and other requirements," he said, as his soldiers left the castle. Ignacio was standing close to the door when the king noticed him. He sighed and walked over to him.

When the king approached him and put his hand on his shoulder, Ignacio was buried in his own thoughts and flinched. "Don't worry, we'll take care of it." Ignacio remained silent. The monarch pursed his lips and took a step back, preparing to leave for the woods.

"No." Every single eye shifted to face the speaker of the voice. "I'll take care of everything, trust me," Ignacio responded as he stared into his father's eyes. Ignacio's eyes were blazing when his father glanced at him, and the King nodded instead of having any second thoughts.

Ignacio's spine tingled as he and his father entered the woods and saw the scene there. A roaring fire that was quickly spreading consumed the entire woodland. The fire expanded its area by a few centimeters every minute that passed. The soldiers were finding it more challenging to unlock the dam's channels. The soldiers were pulling people from the flames; a great deal of vegetation had been consumed, and now the flames were heading toward the town where people lived. The locals were instructed to leave the area as quickly as possible. Time was running short, and the king was puzzled as to why the dams had not yet been opened. When he turned to look, he saw some soldiers straining to lift a jammed lever and others trapped inside the flames.

"Ignacio... Ignacio..." the king yelled as he realized Ignacio was nowhere to be found. The lever, which was frozen in place and keeping the dam closed while the flames spread, was unable to do anything. The king was aware that if the dams were opened, the entire region may be inundated, and that if they were kept closed, a fire might consume everything. In either case, the area will sustain harm, but opening the dam might at least save some lives. He searched the area and went looking for his son, wondering where he had gone.

"Young prince." The king's head snapped towards the unfamiliar voice. A man was staring towards the middle of the flames. Following his eyes, the king noticed Ignacio moving closer to the fire. Although they screamed for him to turn around, Ignacio continued to walk in the direction of the raging flames as if he wasn't actually listening. The soldiers attempted to pursue him to stop him, but they were prevented from doing so by the fire that encircled Ignacio. The king hurried, calling his name, but it fell on deaf ears. The fire opened the way for Ignacio and circled him inside gradually and carefully.
