Sooha let out a relieved breath as she heard the door closing behind Joon jae. That bastard is so self centered, he didn't realize she has hurt her ankle. She was engaged to such person.
She abandoned the thoughts of Joon jae and grabbed her phone to call Hamin.
Within twenty minutes, Hamin was swiping key card to Sooha's room with a doctor in tow.
" Noona, what happened here?" Hamin enquired, sweeping his eyes across the mess in the room.
Even the attending doctor had wide eyes while looking around. All the expensive porcelain is lying broken on the floor, making his heart drench in water. Well, this lump of money might mean nothing to them. Quickly dispelling his thoughts, he began to treat her.
" I just tripped. Nothing to worry min-ah," Sooha reassured him. However, that's not enough of an answer to dismiss his doubts.
"Its a slight sprain. Keep this elastic bandage around your ankle during movements and take these medicines for pain relief." The doctor advised, while wrapping the bandage around her swollen ankle.
" Noona, I will come back soon after seeing the doctor out," Hamin said. However, it's just an excuse he provided to Sooha. Worry laced his handsome face, witnessing Sooha's sprained foot. He didn't know the cause and Sooha won't explain it either. So, he need to get few facts checked up.
After seeing the doctor off, he went to find Joon jae. From the far corner, he could see Joon Jae's date, who appeared from God knows where, with her head low, gritting her teeth as she walked past him.
Hamin tentatively rang the doorbell, which was followed by Joon jae's yell, " Didn't I tell you to scram. Do you think I am a fool to not see through your scam? " Saying that, his voice fell into silence and didn't bother himself to open the door.
Cringing his eyebrows, Hamin once again rang the door bell, unexpectedly, Joon Jae's face appeared in front of Hamin. God knows how much his hand itched to smash the head that popped out of the door.
" Ha Joon Jae," Hamin called out, frustration visible in his words.
Displeased at Hamin's inappropriate way of addressing, Joon Jae retorted, " Yo, look who is at my door step. What is my fiancée's lapdog doing here? Did you forget your way back? You are barking at the wrong door."
Hamin may not be so good at playing with words, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have his way with words, "why? Do you want to guide me? Besides, you are better than me at barking" He clapped back, taking every chance given but, still desperate to punch him.
Hamin clearly knew, he can't create a scene here. However, he couldn't just put up with everything. Not after Sooha was hurt in their power games.
" Are you here to seek death? How dare a mere servant speak against the master?" Joon Jae attacked, taking advantage of his disposition as the heir of Ha family and a soon-to-be family member of the Kim family.
Hamin finally burst into a fit of laughter. This is clearly madness. He couldn't say how Joon Jae made it here with that f*cked up brain of his. The lavish life he is leading after leaching off his family, has blinded his eyes to the world around him.
'Isn't a tiger in zoo is much better than a tiger without fangs? 'Thinking such, Hamin didn't bothered to back down from his stance.
" Even though I am a servant, I work for Kim family. What made you think I will obey you and acknowledge you Ha Joon Jae? Forget it. I am not here to butt with you. How did young Miss Kim get herself injured? Is it your doing?" Arguing with Joon jae is just exhausting.
If he spent anymore time, Sooha would suspect him.
Joon Jae scoffed at Hamin. It explained why Sooha didn't get out of her bed the whole time, though he made a scene out there. How could he miss that? Well, he never had an observer's eye. He started to pry more, trying to get information out of Hamin's mouth regarding Wang Hyuk and Sooha.
" What can you even do if it's me? Is that the reason the dog entered my gate. Look at that little paw. It might scratch me if I say without thinking right?" He laughed as he said.
Tch~ Hamin let out a disgruntled sound. Is the whole situation funny to him? Hamin couldn't decipher what's his motive. He wants to punch his jaw, so that he can't laugh for life. Exactly what's so funny here?
" Even I'm not in the mood for a fight today. So how about asking your miss yourself how she got injured? Who knows what humorous things she is doing, which ended up her like that?" Joon Jae added with a lilt of scarcassm.
"You!!" Hamin raised his voice. Before he could speak anything, he got cut off by Joon Jae.
" You better keep in mind what troubles you could get your master into by overstepping your line," Joon Jae warned, not in a mood to humor anyone. He just got an earful from his father. He couldn't bring himself to play right now and need to stay low. Atleast, for time being.
However, he is correct. Hamin is still in no position to condemn this bastard and he can conclude, Joon Jae isn't the one behind Sooha getting injured.
Eyeing the enemy, Hamin fist landed onto the wall next to Joon Jae, only to hear a laughter in response.
Pain and desperation clouded Hamin's mind. He became stronger compared to the past, however, that's still not enough to protect the people he wants to. He can only accept the fact that he is weak and wait for his chance.
Turning around, he muttered before leaving to find Sooha," You better pray there won't come a day where our positions are swapped. That would be the end of you, Ha Joon Jae" Saying that he left the corridor.
Going to the reception hall on his way, he asked for room service to help clean the room.
Knock knock~
There was no answer coming from the other side. Frowning a little, Hamin got inside. He saw Sooha lazily leaning against the window, admiring the night view of the city, puffing a cigarette.
"You could just told me you were going to meet Joon Jae," Sooha spoke calmly in a neutral tone, taking another puff.
Hamin's pupils narrowed up in amaze. Taking it as Sooha misunderstood him, he hurriedly started to give an explanation, " Noona, I can explain."
Turning to face Hamin, Sooha let out a slight smile on her lips. Lightly tapping the cigarette onto the ashtray, she took her time to continue her words," You are allowed to meet anyone, there is no need for my permission" She asked, pointing the obvious.
She trusts Hamin with all her heart and she doesn't need an explanation from him. People who believe you trust you no matter what the situation is, contradictory, no matter how much one explains, those who don't have an ounce of trust in you would never get themselves to believe your words and dismiss all your efforts in trying to explain as excuses.
Scrunching her eyebrows into a deep frown, Sooha spoke," Listen dear, You should only explain yourself when you think your actions are wrong. Wrong enough to break others and break their trust in you," her words of wisdom flew around the room.
As she spoke, her words laced in dispise. Only those you trust can betray. So until then, what's so wrong in trusting them whole heartedly?
Coming to the main topic, she continued, " If you have informed me, I would have passed the gift that I prepared to irk that bastard, enough to burst out his veins in anger. You'd have enjoyed some show," saying that, she laughed out loudly sinisterly. Teasing Joon Jae surely is pleasing enough to her. The gift she mentioned is the bill he is indebted to pay.
Watching everything, Hamin turned perplexed.
" Noona, you are totally evil," he responded with this remark, making her eyes roll in confusion.
" Are you complimenting me or ridiculing me?"
